Tennis Channel and all American channels suck as they would only broadcast American players matches when there is one. For instance, you might have to watch Brian brothers instead of a Shapovalov-Berdych match. Canadian channels suck equally as they would just re-broadcast American channels unless a major Canadian player is playing. That's why broadcasters like Eurosport are much better during the first week.

So what are most of you using to watch? Also, the French Open's website is horrific and doesn't seem to include an order of play...what is everyone using?

I've had to buy Eurosport for a month because ITV4 are terrible and only show 1 match at a time and invariably it won't be the match you want to watch.

If you bet over I think £5 or £10 on betfair, you can use their streaming service to watch any live match. The quality is pretty poor but it's a nice lifehack for people who refuse to bow down the Eurosport or ITV executives who seem to purposefully show the least interesting match for whatever reason.

But Eurosport on demand shows all matches and about 10€

So I'm trying to use Unlocator to watch https://sport.francetvinfo.fr/roland-garros/direct/ but it isn't working. Does anyone have the same issue or any suggestions? It seems to work fine for other French channels.
I'm using torquard vpn and its working for me perfectly. Last year I had PIA (private internet access) and it did not work. Quality varies, but the show courts looked better than Tennis TV to me which has rather impressive pic quality this year.

Its possible to get sniffed out with any VPN if it assigns you a blocked IP address. You might try unlocator 10 or 20 times in a row to see if it keeps failing.

I've been holding out on UK's Eurosport because the price a week or so a go was 7 Euros after a 1 week trial, now it may be 10 Euros with no trial. Eurosports tennis coverage is slipping and it will slip even more next year when Amazon prime gets an even bigger foothold in UK tennis coverage.

Tennis channel is just fine if you cough up for their multi-court coverage for the year at $100. Just having tennis channel for the first 9 days of the event blows as you've aptly described, except you fail to mention the 50% WTA factor.;)

I watch GS through the separate WatchESPN app. It has past days matches save for your convenience and no commercials since it the international version that is broadcast worldwide. I love this channel which has British commentators.
How's your RG viewing going on WatchESPN?

Actually you just need a funded account, I have £0.25 in there so I can watch their streams, however the quality is sh*t, it's literally a tiny box in the corner of my laptop screen, however Eurosport is full HD and my pc is hooked up to my 4k telly and looks great, better quality than the rubbish SD stream from ITV4, so I don't mind paying £7 for the month to watch any match I like at the French in high quality. I'll do the same for the US too, luckily the BBC still have very good Wimbledon coverage.

Ahh but betting £10 isn't the same as losing £10, you can bet that £10 on Nadal to win his R1 match, for example :D
Betting 10 on Nadal losing first round in RG and have to watch whole RG from a bad stream like tv is a poor choice if you ask me ;)
Im a better. And that stream is not something to watch tennis on.

I said win first round, not lose! I didn't know about the Eurosport player until yesterday anyway, I will almost certainly do it myself now :D
Its great because you can chose to only have it for a month, during slam. A lot of good tennis for a tenner :D
Sometimes they have this one month trials for free here in Norway as well. Its a bargain if you ask me. And so many courts! I even like it better than the BBC coverage for Wimbledon as Eurosport shows all courts.

I did it! It seems like a really good service! They switched from the Wawrinka match to showing Norrie-Gojowczyk on TV, I don't even comprehend the thought process behind that, I swear...

Hahaha
But when you have so many choices you often go on watching more than one match at the same time.
I like first rounds of slams the most. Many fun players :) Norrie is one of them ;)

Okay turns out Foxtel only stream thru 2 dedicated channel. Chatrier and Lenglen but sometimes like now switch to Tomic which is annoying. Is there any way of all HD stream courts for Ozzie resident???

If anybody succeeded to watch it on batmanstream, Looks like you need to expert to install/block all add into chrome. I added already 4-5 extensions to chrome they suggested and still nothing. I'm in CA, USA

I like that a lot (and also speak French so it's even better) but my Unlocator doesn't work this year after too many tries :(

The VPN you mentioned doesn't seem to have a trial period, correct? How did you decide on that one per se if you don't mind me asking?
It was mentioned as a top VPN in some reviews plus expected speed. They sell modems loaded with their software which is a solution for tennis tv on my apple tv 4k where the torquard software may not be loaded. I have one of their cheap modems:
https://torguard.net/store/GL-AR300M

I got this for free with a $50 two year contract and unfortunately it chokes you down to about 6 mbps. Loaded on my devices I get 23-24 mbps which is the speed of my connection. The speed throughput is critical if you do torrents. For tennis watching the 6 mbps is enough. What I do with my baby router is actually plug it inline with LAN. I just tested it in between my xbox one s and the router and it worked for France. One of their more expensive routers would give you full throughput using the router for your whole network (if I wish to do full network I just put it between my modem and my regular wifi router. For RG I'm planning to loan my router to a friend who will use it with browser on his TV to try to watch francetv.:p

I had PIA and it did not work with FranceTV. In your position I would look for VPN services with free trials and try them. You might be able to cobble enough free trials for RG. BBC and Wimbledon will be the ultimate test this year. I had it going with easyhideip last year, but the BBC has gotten really hard to crack and I punted last year and just got slingtv (USA) for $20 for a month to get full ESPN coverage which always works well for all the other majors (0.0 coverage for RG the last couple years.)

This has a lot of HD replays:
https://sport.francetvinfo.fr/roland-garros/direct/

You'll need a VPN service and french commentary if any.
@The Green Mile
The above does not have all the courts. Maybe @TheGhostOfAgassi will check eurosport replays and let us know if they have matches like Ruud and Coric first round?

eurosport player has removed their free trial for a one month membership and upped the price by 3 euros. they have a five day free trial on the annual pass which I'll try come Thursday which will take me through R16. Not a ton of matches today I want so I'll be fine until tomorrow. I may start the trial early for tomorrow, but then I may have a hole for some matches the 2nd day of R16 (Monday) and be back to french commentary for that day on Francetv.

The video fidelity of Francetv is magnifique.:D Eurosport may still just be 720p. FranceTV looks to be as good as tennis tv at its best.

@intrepidish you could also have browser issues. I use safari and chrome on ipad pro. Chrome on windows 10. My LG TV's browser has played the commercials, but then never gets the actual videos and then even the commercials won't run until I clear browsing data. You might be having a browser issue.o_O

Anyone knows why Zorrostream/batmanstream is so taxing on the CPU? I can watch 4k on youtube or stream 1080p live tennis from other sites with NO strain on the computer, but just one 360p stream on zorrostream gets my new Macbook pro hot and the fan kicks up. I don´t think anything I ever done, ever, have made me hear the fans, but one of these low-res streams are pushing the hardware. Why?

Maybe the ads and stuff. Try it with an ad block.

Thanks Meles, I switched to Nord VPN and it's working ok (Firefox and Chrome both on Windows 7). This is the way a broadcaster should cover things; free to the public, extensive court coverage and interview channels as well which I haven't seen anyone mention; have you watched those?

It depends from which country getting Eurosport is my guess. I get it from Norway. And I can chose Norwegian, English or no commentary. Some matches got 3 options. And the price same as last year. Its so many courts and matches and they all are recorded. But its a lot to rewind. Its almost a bit chaotic with like 15 different options at the same time I keep on switching courts every 5 minute.
But I guess its different from country to country, even w Eurosport.
To me this is the easiest, to just have Eurosport and use it for every slam. I don't need IP address or hassle. I think Eurosport is better than BBC for Wimbledon. I had BBC when I lived in UK, and Eurosport shows more. Also Eurosport don't switch courts in the same channel like BBC does.

NordVPN is a good one that I didn't try. I almost switched from Torguard, but couldn't resist the free modem.:D

They have two press conference channels and perhaps a main talking channel. I don't know French well at all, and I've not lucked onto any pressers when I've clicked on those.

Yeah. FranceTV and the BBC do an amazing job for free as well. In Italy SuperTennis broadcasts so much stuff for free that tennis has grown to the number 2 sport in Italy. Italian Federation wanted to pump up dwindling attendance at Rome back in 2009 and this worked really well. USTA should really take note as outside of US Open, Cincy, and IW tennis is withering in the US.

I speak French so I enjoy the commentary and general coverage they provide. Justine Henin has been active there this tournament too.

You're definitely right that public broadcasting in Europe is a different proposition with significant public budgets and licensing fees etc. The US is just about the only country to embrace near complete privatization of the airwaves which makes cultural and national event coverage far more problematic and we see examples of it in these cases too.

Tennis Channel in the US has to operate by the skin of its teeth. I'm not sure the USTA could do much even if they really wanted to in the current US audiovisual climate. I will say that it's a bit ridiculous even for the US that one has to not only get Tennis Channel but also Tennis Channel plus (along with ESPN of course which at least covers the other 3 slams properly) for RG.

Super Tennis is an interesting operation (I also speak Italian and watch it occasionally) and to my knowledge, the only other specialized tennis broadcaster besides Tennis Channel. Do you know of any others?

No. I don't other than of course tennis tv which strictly does matches.

I saw Henin and wish I could understand, she looked fairly animated.

Yea, she is and she does a fairly good job of discussing some technical aspects here and there as well.

It's a little surprising to me that the Italians created a tennis specific channel and not the Spanish and especially the French in some ways. Those 2 would seem to be the most likely candidates in recent years. I don't know much about broadcasts of tennis in Eastern Europe though I imagine in Serbia (which is probably not large enough), Czech Republic (same problem) and Russia, there might be some interest in such a thing too.
