How will Venus and Chanda fair in Doubles in Athens?

I'm so glad that they are playing doubles together! If you put Chanda on the Deuce side and Venus on the AD court, and they play at least half way decent together, then they will win the Doubles easily. Rubin has a bread and butter forehand and Venus has the best 2-handed backhand in Women's tennis and dang what a team! Not to mention they volley so well, and their technique is one of the best out on tour that's an active player (whose natural intentions are to play baseline tennis).

i think that u think that venus is going to win every event she plays so ur opinion seems somewhat biased

Agree with big ted. Andy has been predicting Venus winning this and that, it hasn't been true. Andy, be realistic with Venus' current game. She hasn't won much against top 10 players this year.

As of "they play at least half way decent together, then they will win the Doubles easily". I am not sure about that. They haven't played together, or practiced together much. Doubles are not just each playing one side of court.

I would say the Russians are the favorite who have been playing together this year. Rubin hasn't played much, or well this year.

I think the pairs who will compete for the gold olympic in womens doubles is
Dementieva & Myskina (Russia)
Mauresmo & Pierce (France)

Rubin is defintely a very good doubles player. However, they haven't been played together. It takes a while for two players to get in sync on court. On the other hand, Venus and Serena know each other so well.

I'd say Kutznesova/Likhesova are the favorite. They have been playing together this year to prepare for the olympics.

Hmm, maybe you have a point. Venus is not playing her best tennis now. But I'd have to say under Davenport, she's got the 2nd best hardcourt results this summer. Not to mention she was whipping up on Lindsay 5-0 until her wrist had trouble Afterall, she's the only one who took her as far as a 3 set TB. That racquet must have something to do with her wrist, that Hammer 6.2 stretch OS can be very taxing on your arm. You can say Mauresmo, but Mauresmo struggled against much lower ranked players. She lost in the first round at bank of the west and was breadsticked against Tanasugarn.
