No, the Yonex Blocker Guy: 5.0 on CL.
3.5 if he played USTA.
Oh. I should be a 3.5 in Usta.
One can be a 3.5 and still live a normal fruitful, GOAT filled, exciting life.
It's a terrible, humiliating rating but someone's gotta do it if the Craigslist guys won't play league.
I'm thinking we should combine this thread with the one titled " NTRP 0 to 5 in a year - Video Diary 2013" here (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=462254).
The result is fairly obvious: a regular person can beat world #5 woman tennis player after about 12 months of training. Although I have to admit - it needs to be an intense training.
what would andy be?
lolll right on the money!
i ask someone who was pushing 5.0 this and he said in singles they would get killed. however he thought in doubles it would be very close.
Watch some pro mixed dubs. The women are clearly not as good as the men, but they are able to hang in there. For example they do get some returns from the opposing man back in play, and they don't always get broken.
Throw a 5.0 man in there facing a pro serve, or serving against a pro, and watch them lose every point.
Is this guy aware that Errani and Vinci are the #1 doubles team in the WTA rankings and they've won 3 of the past 5 grand slam titles?
So basically this almost 5.0 (presumably with someone else of similar rating) thinks he could be competing for women's doubles slams?
Color me beyond skeptical.
I don't watch a ton of pro mixed, but did catch the FO mixed final. It was fascinating. Both guys lost serve once (there were only 4 breaks in the match, so half of them were of the guys). The defining moment was when Lucy Hradecka aced Daniel Nestor to go up 8-5 or 9-5 in the match TB.
A 4.5 would beat Errani easily. Both Fognini and Dimitrov sandbaggin' for USTA 4.5 league during their off seasons.
I know a bunch of 5.0 females that can beat Errani, so most every 4.5 singles guy would win
