How would you allocate the following numbers of Major titles: 1, 3, 8, 12, 20

Here's how I would do it:
  • 1 Major: RG
    • It's my favorite Major, so if I had to pick only one, this would be it
  • 3 Majors: RG-W-USO
    • I'd have one on each surface, the USO is more prestigious than the AO, and being an American I'd want my home Major title
  • 8 Majors: 1 AO, 3 RG, 2 W, 2 USO
    • I'd have the CGS, and I'd show excellent surface diversity. I like RG the best so I'd take 3 there, and I'd want at least 2 at the USO because it's my home Major title so winning it a second time would be pretty sweet.
  • 12 Majors: 1 AO, 4 RG, 4 W, 3 USO
    • CGS, perfect surface diversity, and I'd be only the second man with at least 4 titles at each of RG and W
  • 20 Majors: 2 AO, 7 RG, 7 W, 4 USO
    • DCGS (I think this is kind of a made up term, but at 20 Majors I'd probably be annoyed if I couldn't win the AO a second time), I'd be the only player with at least 7 titles at both RG and W (a record that I think might never be broken), and I'd have almost perfect surface diversity. OTOH, I might want 5 USO to be tied for #1 there (I'd be #2 at each of RG and W, and #1 at USO).

1 Major: Wimbledon

3 Majors: Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the US Open

1- Wimbledon
3- Wimbledon, Rg,Uo
8- 3 Wimbledon, 2 Rg, 2 Uo, 1 Ao
12- 5 Wimbledon, 3 Rg, 2 Uo, 2 Ao
20- 10 Wimbledon, 4 Rg, 4 Uo, 2 ao
I think winning 10 at one slam is pretty special achievement and therefore I chose Wimbledon as I would cherish it most rest it's all about cgs, dcgs and maintaining fair distribution

1 - Wimbledon. Most prestige.
3 - RG-W-USO - Surface slam, preferably all in 1 year. USO closer to history with 1 slam than at AO.
8 - 1 AO, 1 RG, 4 W, 2 USO. Career slam with multiple in one major outside Wimby, but a clear propensity for the most prestigious major.
12 - 1 AO, 2 RG, 3 Wimby, 6 USO. Outright record at one slam, plus double Surface slam and CGS.
20 - 3 AO, 3 RG, 8 Wimby, 6 USO. 1 outright record, 1 tied record, triple career grand slam and most versatile career.

Now this is interesting. Most people do not go down for any particular title, although I get your rationale.

1 - Wimbledon
3 - 2 Wimbledon and 1 RG
8 - 3 Wimbledon 2 RG, 1 AO, 2 USO
12 - 5 Wimbledon, 3 RG, 2 AO, 2 USO
20 - 9 Wimbledon, 5 RG, 3 AO, 3 USO
