How you string breaks

have you ever see this pattern on the broken string? it's TopSpin CFlash 17 with 6 hours of heavy play time.

Yes.

Yes, and strangely it snapped only when 1.5 seconds after I struck the ball, and the ball was coming back again. I felt it snap with my non-racquet hand at the throat.

That's sort of what my breaks with volkl v-torque used to look like. Almost like the string sheared off.

Happens more often than you would think. I think the string gets a grove in it, then splits from the grove down / up the string.

Happened to me recently with o-toro. Broke on a cross string right in the middle.
