Huge news about Federer's racket!!!

I recently switched to the blx90 and like you, i love them... But sometimes I'm not too crazy about the lollipop/busy paintjob. I switched to the blx90 as part of my 2months long demo. It's very difficult to swing a Pro Staff after 10years with a Prestige.

Yes, I'm thinking about switching because of the paintjob.

4x 199 = almost 800 Usd k

No way im spending 800 Usd for a paintjob

If Rogi switches then so will I.

I trust Rogi's judgement more than Internet Tennis People(tm).

As long as they keep the BLX crystal compound content similar to the BLX 85 I will be happy and will dominate the mixed winter leagues.

I love my blx90. I hope the new box beam 95 hits just like it once I change the weight.
That would not be possible since one is a 90 while the other is a 95. If you already "love" your BLX90, what's the point of switching to something different?

Any news on if there will be new tech in the 2012 models???

They are keeping BLX tech, but will add amplifeel to it. Not sure what this will be... Anyway, I'm more interested in the new Pro Staff Six One BLX 95 racquet per se, than the tech that it will have.

Good point..... I originally thought the 95 might be more forgiving. The more I hit with the 90 the more I realize that might not be the case after all. I played with the original 85 as a junior (that shows my age) and then various versions of the 95 for many years. Recently I got the 90 and I really like it. As a matter of fact I think the smaller head size disadvantage might be in my head. I certainly feel it is more precise than the 95.

The .90 has a bigger sweetspot than the .95 at least according to tw

The Amplifeel technology is something Babolat and Head fear the most because more feel for club players equals more sales.

Gilbert only promised we'd "feel what the pros feel" with that crazy wrist rocket thing I ended up returning for a loss on shipping costs, but now Wilson is truly delivering it.

Its gonna be huge.

Today I showed up at my local tennis store, and the Wilson Rep was there. He had all the Wilson 2012 line on the floor.
I'm not a Wilson guy, so I din't put too much attention on the racquets...The only think I noticed was a lot of white color on the 6.1 line. I didn't like it. The current red and black on the 6.1 looks much better. He told me that in 2012 Wilson racquets are more "feel" oriented and some in the 6.1 line are much lighter (0.5 oz). Also, I saw the new 6.1 racquets with two head sizes 95 & 100. The more feel oriented on 2012 is becuase a new tech. Cheers!

Your repetitive saracastic comments really don't show any wit or humour and just make you look like a tool.

You might be bored of the same questions being asked by posters, but you'd be far better off spending your energy in getting a life outside the TW message boards instead of getting sour and posting sarcastic comments when people ask questions about a new range of racquets which you clearly have no enthusiam for.

I don't know man, rumor has it that Babolat is currently collecting moon rocks and meteorites to integrate into their frames and provide "interstellar feel." I think that kind of technology will have even the lowest level rec players playing the equivalent of a 5.0 game by today's standards.

Head is bringing back the Intelligence technology. Instead of using it at the throat, they're incorporating it into the handle.

It knows just how much feel you need on every shot.

Nah bro ham I only poast like twice a day. Check my stats papi. My life is so busy I don't have time for tennis or TT. What really hysterical is I'm in the ER right now typing this. The doc just left and I promised not to use my fone. Her name was maria. She's my type. LoL.

Waiting for the ultrasound tech now. I wonder if they will see clusters of cortex on my lungs with it.

I'm just trying to shine up Zappy's fail thread. Its needs more Dali.

Ok, I'm done. If I die tonight this is my last poast.

Take care TT. May the Eagle bless the Juice and Rogi.

Cheer up dude, its only a damn paint job.

BLX Steam- 10.4 oz 100 sq. in. 27.25 length

This racket has shockingly colorful paint. Blue, red, white, and yellow!! Crazy looking stick. Will be used on Tour by Kvitova, Gulbis, Nishikori, among others. Arguably the best one of the bunch. Felt like an Exo Red 105 in that it was very powerful and manueverable yet had tons of feel and control. This one will get the attention of Babolat followers which was the primary goal in its creation. Has new Amplifeel tech.

Pro Staff Six One 95 - 11.0 oz. Standard length

You've seen the all-white with red/gold trim paint job I'm sure. Wilson is trending after Babolat's concept of offering various versions of the Pro version of any given frame. (i.e. Pure Drive Roddick, Pure Drive, Pure Drive Lite) This is the middle child of the Federer line. The PS Six One 95 is an absolute beast and it will confuse the next step decision making process of most Six One 95 followers as they have also come out with a new version of the BLX Six One 95. I loved the lower swingweight of the PS Six One 95 and the added pop as compared to the BLX 95. I would guess flex rating to be 68 from the feel. Awesome stick, no doubt.

I'm tired of typing for now but did hit with the following as well:

-BLX Six One Team
-BLX Pro Open
-BLX Juice w/amplifeel
-Pro Staff Six One 90 (really cool!)
-Pro Staff Six One 100 (junior frame maybe..)
-BLX Tour (BLX Steam eradicates the need for this, Wilson rep agreed)
-BLX Surge (no more green which is sad. Is now black/red but still great)
-BLX Juice 108
-BLX Pro Open Limited
-BLX Pro Open Lite

Holler.

Cool review, man. How does Amplifeel, uh, feel?

Stevo - I am interested in the Juice with the small head. Did you get a chance to hit with it? Would be great to hear your impressions. Many thanks.

Hit with the BLX PS95 yesterday, underpowered, but nice with their new twisted vanilla colored poly. Also got to hit with the IG YT Radical MP, reminded me of the YT Radical, but with clear grommets all around. Might have felt too flexy in the throat, not quite sure what it was. The IG YT Radical Pro wasn't there, so I didn't get to see what the clear cap grommets looked like. I also had the new Juice. It's got a nice PJ, specs are on the head of the racket.. i think it was 16x20, but didn't get to swing it much.

Tell us more about the BLX PS 95! What about similarities/differences with the 90? Or with the Asian 90 perhaps?

I don't suppose it actually exists, but what about that "Amplifeel" gadget?

Pictures and more info on how the ps95 plays! Estimated flex and SW?

What stick do you normally use?

Had a hit with the new PS95 yesterday. Fun racquet to play with but unfortunately it was strung with some pretty awful and very loosely strung poly that really impacted the playing experience.

I currently play with the Asian BLX90 so this was not much of a jump for me. The balance is very similar to the ABLX90 (slightly more head heavy than the BLX90) and in terms of swing weight it feels very similar to it too - maybe slightly lighter but not much.

Cosmetics: Not as bad looking in person as I thought - actually kinda nice with the exception of all the darned gold! The white part is matte while the rest is actually a glossy finish so that's kinda neat - although the bumper guard is also glossy which is a bit strange and of course shows off scuffs much more.

Overall it still has the ProStaff / Tour type of feel, but in a lighter package. Because of the lighter weight it's perhaps not as solid feeling as the regular BLX90 but you do get the sense it is from the same family.

The only really noticeable difference to me between it and my Asian K90 is the sweetspot - it did feel bigger and more forgiving - especially it seemed towards the top of the frame (12 o'clock).

Nice frame, will most likely switch to it when it comes out - wish the strings in the frame I played with were not so crappy so I would have had a truer experience with it. I do think it will appeal nicely to those who want a player's frame but find the Tour 90 series a bit heavy and not forgiving enough.

Thanks, Peter. So it really is a 95 version of the Asian BLX (the slightly lighter weight difference should probably be gone if you change the grip into a leather grip I suspect); good to hear that it has the same feel.

That is what it felt like to me - a larger Asian BLX 95 ... and yes the leather grip might help with the balance a tad ... but who knows how much of the balance difference is also Wilson Quality Control™ .... I have three Asian BLX's .... one of them feels totally different in terms of balance than the other two.

I didn't care to take pictures of the frame, it looks just like the pictures, but a bit cheaper in person IMO. We were just using the bare replacement grip and the frame was strung with a new twisted wilson poly. I'd guess it was 320 or so. IG Radical MP def. had a heavier swing though.

BTW, Arin from Glendale, CA, stop stalking me.

After a few more hits, I change my RA/Flex guesstimate on the PS95 to more like 64. Has more flex than I originally perceived for sure. I was too caught up in the amazing pop it unexpectedly held. It feels so freakin' light on swings but still lasers groundstrokes. This frame is winning.

BLX Juice 100- Clearly a counter-offering for the likes of PDGT or APDGT but with glaring faults. An absolute rocket launcher with no focus on placement ability. I get the Amplifeel is intended to allow for the bombing of shots and the "feel" or knowledge of how you did it, but I couldn't keep the ball in the same zip code, let alone on the court. This racquet is a wh0re for power. No thanks.

The BLX Six One Team has completed opened the string pattern to a 16x18. It really does feel nice, but I personally always thought it was cool that previous generations of this one had very dense patterns for no rhyme or reason. Sell out. Boo.

Bumble Bee Tuna. Your balls are showing.

I'm not into all the details of Wilson racquets and what Federer uses where and when, but I thought this photo might interest some of you.

Is this Roger's new 2012 racquet? Even if it was, bit odd to show off a new racquet for the last leg of 2011.

That's the K-Factor K90 from a few years ago. All they did was take a stock photo from a few years ago and photoshop the new shirt and shorts on him. :) LOL

That's a K-factor, 2007-2009 ;)
hi do you have a source that this is the case?? despite pictures from recently the new powerful racquet that wilson is releasing this might behis actual stick? why would they replace a picture recently with him with the new racquet if this isnt so.

Notice something similar about the racquet? It's also the K90 just like in the 2011 WTF pic above.
