Hurkacz will beat Federer

Lost 3 times against Djoker...Clearly there is someone superior in his era...

No you irrational fellow.
Sampras retired in 03 but if he had continued his career till 2011 then would you have called Pete a member of Fed's era?

Don't be ridiculous, Fed instead of retiring in 2013 continued till 2021 and reached the 3-4 finals which in itself is unexpected of him, so losses doesn't make him any less than Novak, he remains ahead because 8 wimbledons is ahead of 5 in number, get this inside your thick skull.

Nope that is your own opinion and since Federer continued we can conclude that Novak is superior...

Of course when Djokovic reaches 8 or more wimbledons he becomes de facto grass goat but right now like in the past we exchange opinions in similar fashion like overall goat debates...

Thing is Djokovic is near de facto goat overall...
While for grass we will have to wait 2 or 3 more seasons..

You deserve some props for this one if Fed doesn't come back to win. It's easy to just shout out a prediction but a lot harder to back it up by leaving the forum if you get it wrong.

5 YEAR AGE DIFFERENSE doesn't prevent u from being in the same era, they have played 50+ times!!!! Laver and Gonzalez played 60+ times despite 10 years age difference.

Wasn't crazy when you think about it.. People were getting carried away by Federer's level against some ordinary opponents. Just needed a steady player with a consistent serve to take him out and Hurkacz was exactly the type to do it.

Its looks like god doesn't liked you to leave TT as you said you will if your prediction fails.

But you jinxxed it...may be that slip in the breaker.

Yeah I was feeling the same thing in the sense that Federer is old and vulnerable. People think he's winning Wimbledon just because he looks good against a Sonego or a Norrie, but obviously those people aren't going to take the game away from Fed. Besides, old Fed can have a bad day if he's unlucky and basically lose to anyone. To be honest I didn't think Hurkacz was the one who would beat him (I thought Med or Berettini might though), but it's not a total surprise.

Not a crazy or jinxing prediction. If Hurkacz serves as well as he did today and is not suffering from any fatigue, he should give a beatdown to the old man.

Hurkacz to win in max 4 sets tomorrow

What were the Las Vegas odds for this match?
Was Fed a huge favorite? What would have been our winnings if we had wagered $100 on Hurkasz?

Well he(HH) played the match of his life and Federer as usual dropped to his 1st round level and even further in the 3rd set.

That Breaker was the key....Drive volley miss and unlucky slip at the net were pivotal moments.

May be this is the end of an era after that horrible 3rd set.

With the exception of the number of sets, you called it. Great job!

Ordinary opponents have ordinary ability to keep self confidence while stadium tells them the opposite. Steady player plays consistently with consistent serve AGAINST the stadium 'telling' him he cannot prevail.

You recognized HH's ability to deploy Djokovic mode on W full CC at QF against no other but Federer. Excellent job.

Federer level at the moment is 1st round and this QF. Without stadium crushing opponent's mind - that is what he can do by himself. In all other matches his opponents failed prey to what stadium told them - all played below their average level - and their drop made Federer's level 'look' better / higher than it really is.

Again, brilliant observations / analyses and conclusion / prediction based on them.

Congrats to Hubert Hurkacz also, for being able to apply 'teachings' of Djokovic - where it is the hardest and where it seems least possible to succeed. Where it seemed impossible for a player not named Novak Djokovic before today, that is.
