Struggling to find a good multi / poly cross hybrid vs full multi in my 2022 volkyl C 10 Pro. I have used both of the above setups with equal success. Wondering if the poly cross is really a plus vs full multi which I now use at 60 lbs. Would appreciate any feedback. Thx

Most people who hybrid a poly/multi setup, myself included, would put poly in the mains and multi in the crosses.
I’ve been using volkl cyclone in the mains and volkl vfeel in the crosses for about 10 years now with really good success. I love that combo.

Poly/non-poly will definitely offer a lower-powered, more controlled response, and potentially better control for flatter hitters, who don't need, or necessarily even want, a higher amount and/or longer-lasting level of snapback. It also can be a better fit in frames with higher innate power potential and/or more "hot" string beds (most tweeners, Babolats, etc), which may explain the perception that it's more common, as those types of racquets are growing ever-more the majority. That said, non-poly/poly will offer higher natural power, better touch/feel and a more fluid, less-locked string bed with more and longer-lasting snapback and snapback-based spin. As such, non-poly/poly is typically a better fit for lower-powered frames that can befit from the extra natural explosiveness, and/or for those players who enjoy the feeling of more dynamic, snappy, fluid string bed. Either way, they each have their merits, and are both still relevant.

That aside...

@Nostrings – I think we need more info. What playing qualities are you trying to find more or less of in your string setup for the C10 Pro? Power? Spin? Touch/Feel? Launch Angle? Durability? Something else? The more you can describe for us what you're looking to achieve, as precisely as possible, the better we can guide you as to exactly how best to string your frame for success.

Thx. Will try that. What tensions are you using

I string for a few 4.5s with the same stick who love 16g gut/ghostwire 17g. I have been stringing with them for years.

I usually do the cyclone around 48-51 pounds depending on how warm or cool it is outside, and then I string the crosses 4 pounds tighter.
Interesting. I just strung up the C10 pro with multi mains and poly cross 58/50 lbs. Will try it out tomorrow. Mmostlr flat hit with moderate topspin so I was concerned about hitting long hence the higher tensions. If it does not work out I will slowly work my way down to 54/50.
