hybrid (gauge) gut vs. full string gut

i hope that this isnt a silly question but am curious:

currently i have my frames strung with a VS gut hybrid. mains are at 55# with 15L vs team. crosses at 57# with 17 vs team.

if i go with a full vs gut 16 gauge at 56# will i basically get a slightly livelier string with comparable life span, or am i losing something?

Yes there will be a difference. First of all, you will indeed have more feel but you will be sacrificing durability (like by two weeks). Maybe you should start using a thiner poly like kirschbaum supersmash 17. This a durable poly with a thiner gauge which will allow for more feel with the same durability. YOu shold still continue using the vs. for your crosses though. Nothing cn mach those.
