Hybrid... need help!

I'm planning to string next time using an hybrid.
My 1st choice is Tecnifibre X-one 1.24 for the crosses and Signum Hex 1.20 for the mains but i also have Luxilon Timo 1.10 and Luxilon Original Rough 1.30.

Surely i will use on crosses the Xone but i have to decide for the mains...

What do you think? Which of these setup would be better for my new Yonex RQIS 95sq ???

SIGNUM and XONE ?
TIMO and XONE ?
BB Rough and XONE ?

Your TF won't last long with any of them. Why don't you use the thin Lux as the cross and drop the tension a few pounds? It would last longer.

I would say to use the TiMO to obtain the greatest durability since its the thinnest poly you have. Thinner polys will take longer to cut through multis like X1.

Like Steve said, your X1 won't last very long to very stiff polys (I don't know about the Hex though).

See my sig... Same setup. It's awesome (Signum Hex 17 on the mains and X-1 on the crosses). You have to try it. Promise you will love the feel, control,...

A thinner gauge polyester will act more like a sharp edged knife on any multi. I've done MANY poly/multi hybrids and utilizing a thicker gauged poly has ALWAYS shown more durability than when using the same poly in a thinner gauge. Going to a micro gauged poly like Timo 1.10 will quickly induce notching and subsequent breakage in a multifilament very very quickly.

I have seen the same with natural gut - if the poly is very stiff and thin it will 'saw' the softer string ...

I don't have much problem with my setup. The hex will start to notch the X-1 a little but nothing severe. I restring at least every 2 weeks - for tension maintenance rather than breaks. If you play 3x a week this setup should last you at least 2 weeks... unless you are a Nadal with the spin.

That said... I use 17g for the mains and 17g for the crosses.

That sounds about average for durability from what I'm seeing. In addition to the aforementioned spin inclination...one's stringing pattern, playing surface, and how hard one hits may all contribute to affecting durability. I've had some poly/multi racquets come back in a matter of days in the past. Even then...that still beats my personal setup of 3 hours max using a multi/poly with K90's. :-o
Another option to consider is a switch to a poly/synthetic gut hybrid. If the synthetic gut used isn't high in stiffness, it'll do almost a good job at softening up the stringbed with more durability as a bonus.

Last question:

And if my choice will be X-ONE on mains and SIGNUM HEX on crosses and not SIGNUM HEX on mains and X-ONE on crosses? :D

Its sounds like a Fed setup...but with a little difference on x's but with less quality on m's 'cause he use Wilson Natural Gut...

yeah, not quite a fed set up. also remember that they restring ALL THE TIME, and that set up will not last very long compared to the poly in the mains. i guess it depends what you are looking for. i prefer poly in the mains, because that is where you get more of the poly characteristics (spin, durability, control). the poly would probably notch the x1 in no time...
