Hybrid: NXT Tour 17 / Luxilon Alu Power Fluoro?

Currently have my K-90s strung with Natural Gut/Alu Power original.

Natural Gut is a bit too expensive for me, and Alu Power is just a bit too stiff for my liking.

Am looking for a more cost effective alternative to using Natural Gut, as well as a softer poly alternative to Alu Power. According to many reviews, the NXT Tour is the closest playing string to Natural Gut, and the Alu Power Fluoro has good reviews as being a more arm-friendly version of Alu Power.

"Closest playing string to natural gut, #1 rated synthetic gut string for playability (USRSA), expands sweetspot by 15%, reduces vibration up to 80% vs. traditional synthetic gut"

"Luxilon recommends Alu Power Fluoro to any player seeking more comfort in a softer feeling high performance monofilament string, which includes those seeking to include Luxilon’s famous characteristics in hybrid string combinations."

Anyone have an opinion on (or tried) on this hybrid setup?

Currently have Natural Gut in the mains strung at 53lb and Alu Power in crosses at 48.

You probably know that nothing plays like nat gut. That said, NXT Tour would be my choice among multis for what you want to do.

For a poly cross, you can probably do better than Fluoro. Take a look at Spin X and Tour Bite -- both are said to maintain their playability longer than the Lux.

have you personally tried this setup?

Its a nice hybrid, not like a natural gut hybrid. Personally I would go for TF X-One biphase with ALU because I think its closer to a Natural gut feel and a better string to play with.

You can save some money and get better performance with a Big Hitter Blue / Tourna Quasi-Gut or NRG2 combination. If you want to stiffen it up you can try X-1 Biphase instead of the NRG2/Quasi gut.
