Hybrid of "rough" string in the mains / Synthetic Gut in the crosses

Hi anyone tried this set up with Klipper Power Burst Rough ( supposedly likened to Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power Rough) in the mains and synthetic gut in the crosses ?

For one the SnapBack for the mains was horrendous . Is this normal for these rough strings ?

Strung it at 65 lbs.

I do not like that combo for the same reason. I have found that highly textured poly needs a very slick cross to maintain snap back. I usually will cross a rough poly with a smooth thinner poly cross.

I haven't tried that specific setup, however I totally agree with PBODY99, Shaped and "rough" poly mains perform much better (for me) with a smooth poly or even multi/syn gut in the crosses.

I also use the same thing. Just strung up some Tourna Big Hitter Blue Rough in the mains and used Tourna Black Zone in the crosses. The Black Zone is designed to be used as a cross.. and is more or less the perfect cross for this and say natty gut.. since it does not saw thru the gut and lets the gut.. slide back and forth. It also was designed to hold tension better than most polys...
