Hybrid suggestions for PS97 v14

Hoping to get some stringing advice here for my Prostaff 97v14. I’ve been playing hybrid setups for the last year on these frames but I’m ready to try new string setups. For the longest time I’ve been typically doing cyclone 18 in the mains at 50lbs and gamma livewire pro or regular livewire 17 in the crosses at 52-53lbs. After about 10-12 hours of play on these setups I’m finding that I’m not getting as much bite and spin on the ball causing typical shots to go a little longer than I’d like. I don’t want to string tighter though because I’ll give up some of the pocketing and feel.

I’ve also tried head hawk power with yonex rexis speed which is decent. But sometimes a bit too powerful

I was thinking about doing the Technifibre razorcode soft 17g (round poly) in mains at 50 or 51lbs and using BiPhase, Multifeel, NRG2 17g in crosses at 53lbs.

I’m wondering if I should string the multis even higher? 54? If there’s a three lb difference between main and cross will I get erratic launch angles? Has anyone played these setups?

Also contemplating doing a full bed of razorsoft at maybe 47-48lbs. I just can’t play full poly higher than 50 due to previous tennis elbow.

Any suggestions?

Also is it worth doing the multi in the mains and poly cross?? If so what would I gain and or give up?

Thanks!

Try cyclone 17 in the mains at 48lbs and gamma livewire pro 16 or regular livewire 16 in the crosses at 50-51lbs - Basically gauge up at -2 lbs per gauge to keep the same approx feel but a little longer life. You could keep same tension if you really want to "gain control"

Best not to constantly keep trying new strings. Stick with what yoy know and build on it - my strong opinion now after spending 2-3 years listening to random peoples opinions on rackets and strings.

I played PS97v13 with MultiFeel 16G mains and Kirschbaum Max Power 125 crosses at 50-46 give or take 2 lbs. I also like NRG2 16G mains with Kirschbaum Max Power 125 crosses. If you are going to use the multi in the cross, I suggest MultiFeel 16G as it is crisp and controllable and if you get a reel on sets on sale much better price. The mains give the primary feel so it isn't worth using a high price multi as a cross. You might want to try using the multi in the mains too. I like multi mains because it is softer and has better feel while still getting good spin and control.
