Hybrid with Origin and Cyclone, tension recommendation

Hi!

I have a set of origin 17 and I'm thinking about using it in a hybrid with cyclone. Any advice on tension (maybe different for each string?)? Or is it a waste to use this string for this purpose?

I use the Pure Strike 16x19 and usually string full bed cyclone tour at 22-23 kg and cyclone a bit lower than that. I opt for more control than power and have had some trouble lately with my string trampolining away the ball which happens even more on bad days (of course).

I also got a reel of Prince Tournament Nylon 15L from a friend. Is this string still relevant? Maybe a good option for a hybrid also? How would it be to use this thicker string with a thinner 17 string?

Any advice is much appreciated!

I used to use Origin as a cross - but found that it notches and then gets gummie. I would use Origin in a full bed.

Thanks! I've used Origin in full bed but wasn't overwhelmed, I played much better indoors with it than on clay. It was good but being used to polys it's something different.

I also have several PS 16x19 frames.

Cyclone/Origin hybrid to me doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Origin is not at all slippery. I would agree with leejayh that it gets gummy. It will prevent Cyclone from moving/snapping back.

Cyclone mains and your Prince Tournament Nylon crosses make more sense but I've found that Cyclone plays best in a full bed.

You say " lately with my string trampolining away"... What has the temperature been in Stockholm? Are you compaing 2-23Kg in the Winter and Spring when the temperatures are lower vs now/lately? The ball will fly further and the strings will lose tension faster in warmer temperatures.

I have used origin for a hybrid but first it would with a copoly that is not shaped (round only), not stiff, around 17 gauge.. and works for ok...with the origin in the main. First and foremost, I prefer a Copoly to differnent Copoly for a more spin friendly, heavier ball hybrid...
I don;t always hybrid, but when I do...

Yeah, it's been pretty warm and humid with a lot of rain also. In winter I use 23kgs and in clay in summer 22kg. So maybe your right that my current strings have lost to much tension. But I'm also wondering if cyclone tour is good for me in this frame. I used it in full bed in my pure strike 100 which worked great. But maybe they're to powerful in the ps16x19? I tried the polystar energy in this frame at 22kg recently and that was fantastic, but went trampoline on me real quick unfortunately.

I'll try a full bed of cyclone and see if my sets of Origin will come to use some other time. Thanks for your help.
