Hi,
anybody has feedback using Hyper G string from a m Z retailer, price looks right not like on eB%, but I see that they even distorted bar scan on the stock photo.
All those retailers claim they buy it from "Wholesellers". And seller called "Solincto Store". I think it's very hard to knock off this string with it's square shape.
One of my frequent stringer says it's the same everywhere, even i you pay 125$ per big reel.

Thanks
Mario

Well, Solinco just posted not that long ago about a rise in fake / knock off strings so take that for what its worth. At minimum, if the seller is based in the U.S. they (or whoever they're getting it from) is breaking Solinco's MAP policies. Sellers outside the U.S. generally do not have the same MAP restrictions but I know Solinco is having issues with stuff being re-sold on the 'zon and other places for less that what legit dealers can sell for.

This seller from a mnz listed as a <Solinco Store>, would be nice if they are real, will try to ask Solinco on X.
I will try them

be careful, someone brought me some string purchased on zon' that looked more or less the same but felt "wrong" from just4fun...there are for sure counterfeits but there are also flippers who are probably not storing the stuff correctly. Its not like there is a shelf life but if you are operating out of some basement and the stuff is stored next to a high heat source it will surely affect the string

It is not that hard to knock off that string.

I would not trust the river site nor the big auction site for string purchases (especially reels).

Just buy from reputable UK retailers. Sales tax and shipping costs offset each other, but reel price is a lot (20%+) lower.
This is best advice you’ll get. Europe sellers have prices that all “stringers” should have in their “world”. Shipping takes a bit longer (choose the cheaper option) but prices are hard to beat. You can score a reel of PTP for under $100 and hyper G around $120.

+1 for EU sellers.

some of our US products are priced to punish us for our strong dollar.
Solinco is an American company, but their strings are still coming from Taiwan.
Wilson and Luxilon seem to be able to do a better job at keeping their prices high across every continent.

I saw an add on Line for a Hyper G string that is advertised to be 2-sided. Is this a new version? Is it reel?

Plea z. Ex cues my tie pos. I am yew zing otto in core rect.

Thanks all for info, I contacted Solinco to confirm if they have am z store, they said:

Our store is real but it is only for informational purposes, please check who its "Sold by" and ensure its an authorized dealer with a reputable and accountable website. Anyone who is not respecting the MAP price is generally a bad actor and puts you at risk of counterfeit product, or defective products due to poor storage conditions of the product.

All guys from am z knows how to hide their traces, everybody said <Buy from wholesaler>. I have a lot gift cards which I try to use.
This is an example what I bought, very tricky.
And surely you can not rely on any hologram, packaging details, bar codes, those guys know everything. And only pro can feel if it's true or no during the play.

This is my purchase link

Wow - those are prices. I've never paid more than 90 euros for the 200m reel Hyper G and that's already too expensive.
You can see again and again how much money can be made with such a “cheap” product.
A 200m reel costs no more than 3 dollars to manufacture.
Then there's the frequent shipping, customs, marketing and the profit margins from the wholesaler to the retailer and customer.
Everyone holds out their hand - it's like in real life - the end customer always pays the bill.

So looks like $120 price in US still can be profitable for genuine product. Fritz can you send me some?-). I just bought few reels from guy in Poland.

BTW - should I now travel to the UK and post a parcel?
I have now looked at our yellow post office and I can also get something with 24 € or so.
But I also have to submit a customs form with the correct prices.
Import sales tax is levied from the EU to a non-EU country. Private gifts up to 100 dollars can be sent duty-free.
Customs duty may be added for goods worth €150 or more. From 700 dollars, 13.5% customs duty and 19% VAT are added.

The hurdles are set very high - but as the White House says, America first.

Here is update from Solinco: too many ifs, bit hard to digest, they also posted this mptennis link, not sure why

One thing a lot of people do not understand about Amazon is how difficult it is for brands to manage their listings of their products. It is a constant battle to have the right images and information presented due to its structure based on sales. Sellers compete for the buy box by providing the lowest price and if they get priority they can edit the listing information and images. As a brand it is a constant fight to have the right information and images displayed so that is why we created the storefront, but even then the rules on that marketplace are always changing and working in that ecosystem sometimes does not make any sense.

We have terminated business relationships and have been taking action against anyone who we get complaints about as you are correct about the confusion this is causing. Numerous people have in one way or another been affected by it and come to us to try and get a refund or exchange items bought from some of these questionable vendors for a variety of reasons. The harder it is to find the identity of the business listing products the more suspect it is. Ultimately though it falls on Amazon to make the customer whole in these situations especially when the vendor cannot present legitimate Solinco purchase orders. If the vendors are legitimate and do in fact have an issue with the product, even though they purchased it on Amazon, we do stand behind our product and the customer will get a resolution.

Oh dude, I just looked at your profile - and you're in Austria. Good for Mozart merch and 1980's spy movies. EU screws you over and doesn't even give you a reach-around. Make Austria Great Again?
The elevator doesn't go all the way to the top for you either - what medication do you have to take?

To many ifs regarding what?? I think its pretty clear, if you buy from a random seller you may get something fake or sub-par.
