Hyper-G gauge and tension?

I use the 2016 pure aero I need to know what gauge(16L or 17) and tension. I play with a decent amount of topspin looking for a mix of control and power I know the pure aero is a stiffer racket but I was thinking around @50 lbs.

I would try 16L and possibly 16 if the 16L breaks too quickly. 50 pounds is a great tension! If you want something with a similar stiffness but more control, durability, and tension maintenance, I'd look at Luxilon 4G Soft at the same tension.

Hyper G i tried the 17 gauge at 53 pounds in my rf97, It was amazing, loved the ball pocketing, that dense thud and just the feel of the string :) I'd go with 50 pounds, at first you might find balls fly if you aren't used to tension being 50 pounds and under but stick with it and it'll work wonders.

Solid advise overall. Solinco recommends their strings not be strung tighter than 52lbs. Any higher and it robs the string of all elasticity. In a Pure Aero with 16L I would say 50lbs should work well. You may find you have to think about adding shape to the ball if you've been playing at a higher tension previously.

I've been playing with gut/poly hybrids for a while now, but thought I'd try out a full bed of Hyper G. I usually string gut mains @ 58 lbs and poly crosses @ 55 lbs. Would 50 lbs for a full bed be a good place to start or should I go lower? My main stick is a Yonex VCORE Pro 330.

50 would be starting point. I have a guy playing that racket with hyperG 16 at 43.

My (sensitive) arm objected to the combination of the PA and 17 gauge Hyper G. So I tried 18 gauge. That was a winner. I had been all over the map tension wise - mostly because I was tinkering with adding weight to the PA. The heavier I made the frame, the more I had to increase tension. In general though, I liked the feel most between the high 40’s and low 50’s.

If my arm could have taken 17g or even 16L, I would have preferred to do either in hopes of having some more control.

I used hyper G 16g 45lb on my blade 98 16x19 .. super nice at less $10 a set .. its super nice and plays good..
lots of top spin and control.. you need have full swing in order to get the max out of this string.. i would say 4.5 or above lev..

I used to restring my racquets every match when i used multi nxt power main / lux alu power rough cross($20)

now I have moved on to co poly.. no more hybrids for me :) lasts longer and ball goes in more..
