Hyper G gauge choice

What are some gauges of hyper g you guys use? I tried Hyper G 16 in my 16/19 blade and it feels great, however I wanted to try some thinner gauges. What gauges do you guys use for Hyper g and does the spin really diminish much going down from 16g?

Wise question, 6 mains and not super open like a PA. If 8 mains and more controlled center, then i’d test out 1.25.

Alright, I’ll take a look and report back. I don’t expect my blade to be a string breaker, as I play with big top spin but can’t seem to break strings. I guess it will work but we shall see.

Oh, I didn’t even see on the original post it was a blade. Yeah you can play 1.25 on the new blade 16x19

What tension would you recommend? I usually go 47-51 as my average tension, I was thinking 48/45 on the 16 and 47 as a full bed on the 16L. Thoughts?

I have two Ultra Tours. One strung with HG 16 and the other with HG 17, both at 48lbs.

I have not seen any appreciable difference in launch angle between the two frames.

16 has better power but not by a huge margin. 17 has better comfort, spin, feedback, and response. Keep in mind that my frames have a very dense string bed. 17 is definitely the winner for me.

I’d say 50lbs with hyper-g given its a bit lively. I used TB 16L @48lbs on blade and it was good!
