Hyper ProStaff 6.0 Tour 95 vs. Original 6.0 95?

Has anyone compared the Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.0 Tour 95 to the Wilson ProStaff Original 6.0 95 side by side? If so, do they play exactly alike?

I know this sounds like a strange question since the TW Exclusive Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.0 Tour 95 is supposed to be the exact same racquet as the ProStaff Original 6.0 95 (just different paint job) but as I've found with my POG mids, just because they are supposed to be exactly the same doesn't mean they always are.

Whether it be due to age or quality management from Prince, my 1987 POG mid plays heavier and more solid than the POG mid I purchased in February of this year.

Thanks for the help.

PS: If anyone wants to give me some more comparisons between the Original ProStaff 6.0 95 (or the one with the new paint job), the nCode nSix-One 95 16x18, the Hyper ProStaff 6.1, and the Classic 6.1 95, it would be greatly appreciated.

The current Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.0 Tour 95 paintjob that TW is selling is mis-named IMO. That was the name of the European-only racquet that TW sold early last year. That one was painted just like the HPS 6.1 95 (i.e., red with yellow and black "Nascar" graphics), except that is was a matte finish rather than a glossy finish like the HPS 6.1. That racquet actually did have HyperCarbon in it so it did indeed play differently than the PS 6.0 95. I felt it played lighter and stiffer than the PS 6.0 95, however, I know there are a couple of people on this board that feel it played flexier. I chose the PS 6.0 95 because it has a sweeter feel and also I could serve better with it.

Now the current HPS 6.0 Tour 95 at TW is just a paintjob of the PS 6.0 95. I haven't tried it, but they should play EXACTLY the same. At least the same as any recent production PS 6.0 95. I mean, that's the whole point of a paintjob, in that the pro wants a racquet that plays exactly the same as the real racquet underneath the paintjob. If they played differently, not too many pros would accept using paintjobs.

Interesting comments about the European HPS. I currently play with the original PS 6.0 95 but had been looking for something a little lighter and with a stiffer hoop--would this fit the bill then? If so, would you know where I could pick one or two up, new or used? Thanks.

Yes, the Euro HPS 6.0 95 Tour should suit you. It is a bit lighter and has a stiffer hoop (from the added HyperCarbon). I understand you can still buy it in some places in Europe. You might want to do a search on these boards or on the Web to find out where. You can also check the classifieds here or on ****. I still see used ones pop up now and then.
