hyper prostaff 6.1 different tensions....

I was putting new grips on my girlfriends HPS 6.1 Midplus Stretch sticks and noticed something strange. One racquet lists the tension at 50-60# and the other shows 53-63#. I looked on the Wilson website and it also says 53-63. She said they were both purchased the same day from the same store, and I just thought this was weird. Anybody know why they might differ?? I figured it must be a difference in production date or something like that, but who knows.

I had 6 of them ~ 5 years ago. I don't recall seeing any of them suggesting different tensions. In fact, I'm fairly certain they were all 50 - 60.

On the other hand, I did notice that my friend's Hyper PS 6.1 standard length was 55 - 65, but I just figured that was because mine were 18x20 and his were 16x18.

Keep in mind that those are just recommended tension ranges and you may need to go a couple of lbs. beyond the margins to get a racquet and strings to mesh effectively for you. My old ProStaff 6.1 Classics had a range of 55-65 lbs. and they always worked great for me strung up near the top of that range. Some other frames that I use from Prince have 100 sq. inch heads and they always played too mushy with synthetic gut until I strung them 3-4 lbs. above the top of the rec'd range. I ramble...

I've seen different batches of the same racquet model with different tension ranges printed on them - it definitely seems odd the first time you spot it. That sounds like the case with your frames and I wouldn't worry about the inconsistency as anything much more than a graphics glitch.
