I am glad I bought Lotto Viper Ultra...

I have been looking for a wide and well-cushioned tennis shoes at an affordable price for a long time.

I tried the following tennis shoes:

  • NB 656 9.5 4E (Width is generous but cushioning is too hard. Will not buy again)
  • NB 806 10 4E (Width is generous but cushioning is too hard. Will not buy again)
  • Asics GR5 10.5 Med (cushioning is very good but width is a little bit snug. Discontinued. GR6 is narrower)
  • Lotto Viper Ultra 10.5 Med (cushioning is very good and width is comfortable. Will buy again!!)
Heel slipping
Initially my heel is slipping.
However, the solution is actually very simple.
After lacing up my shoes like this, my heels is locked in place.

I'm in your shoes.. pun intended.. I have been trying to find a good replacement for my Babolat SFX's Size 12. I have very wide feet and with even some "wide shoes" my feet hurt.... I just got a pair of Lotto Viper Ultra 12.5 and i really enjoy the cushioning.. stability isn't as good tho but that's no my priority... cushioning and comfort are!

Same here.

My priority is cushioning (heel/forefoot) and comfort (width).
The uppers are very comfortable too.

According to TW review, sole/toe durability is poor.
However, I am not a shoe breaker.
I think these shoes will last me more than a year.

I will use it for a few more days and then decide whether to buy another pair.

My Lottos are 10.5.
Maybe I should get the SFX 10 if I decide to try them too.

Yeah I asked TW staff which size to get in the Lotto's knowing that I wore SFX Size 12. I ordered both 12 and 12.5 just to be safe. Lotto Size 12 was a bit tight for me. SFX's are known to be 1/2 larger in size for shoes..I would suggest getting SFX size 10 if you can find them.. Although I hear there's going to be new version of the SFX next month. Hopefully it will be the same fit..WIDE!

According to TW review, "forefoot cushioning is still low profile but comfortable".

How would you compare it to SFX (and possibly Asics GR series) for the forefoot cushioning?

Thanks

Forefoot cushioning:
Asics GR5 is better but not by much. GR5 also has a lower to the ground feeling, which I like.

Comfort (Width and uppers)
Both GR5 and Lotto Viper are comfortable in terms of width and uppers . Lotto is a bit wider.
However, I like how GR5 conforms to my feet like a glove once it is broken in.

Note: I haven't tried SFX yet.

They are available in sizes 7 to 13 at TW.
Maybe other vendors have them in other sizes.
I wear size 14. Not a lot of good shoe choices at times. I try other vendor sites at times when TW does not have my size. Rarely I find my shoe size but 99% of the time I don't.

I understand...

I am a size 10 - 10.5 for shoes.
If I go to Ross or Marshalls I hardly see any shoes in these sizes
because they are so popular they are snap up and gone most of the time.
However I see a lot of size 13 and above Tennis shoes.

Thanks for the video on locking the laces. You just saved my Christmas present from my mother.
