I (am supposed to) hate Zverev due to this forum... why?

I understand that I should hate Zverev. I do as well. But I know nothing of him to even hate him. I have barely seen him and don't even care about him. Sometimes I forget his first name even.... but the collective feeling of the board/peer pressure has rubbed off on me and I hate him for no reason other than I know I am supposed to hate him to be a good citizen and member of this forum. This is how genocides happen, racism or lynching and people standby no?

So... why should I hate Zverev? What is there to actually hate about him?

I am also told that I must like Shapavolov. I do even though I know nothing of him apart from watching one match and 5 mins of interview footage but I realise speaking bad of him will affect my standing on this forum if I say so. I will conform to societys standards expected of me. I like him

Update: My employer has found out that I visited Zverev's facebook page. They have deduced I may like Zverev as a result. I have been fired from work and I am now unemployable. Men in uniforms raided my house. My wife and kids have been taken for questioning incase they also share their father/husbands views of possibly liking Zverev. I begged them to let my kids go at least. They can't be punished for their fathers thought crime. I tried to protest my innocene, I dont really like Zverev I was just curious what his facebook page was like. After 23 hours of consecutive beatings I signed a forced confession stating that I liked Zverev. My fate will be decided by public trial tomorrow. I was given a lawyer to defend me. Initially I was pleased but have since learned that the lawyer provided to me is actually a cat called felix. The trial is tomorrow but they said my pre trial verdict is guilty for thought crime. WTF? The trial hasn't even happened yet though. I fear this public trial is merely a spectacle

Most of the time I’m just joking around, I do dislike him significantly more than other players but it’s not “hatred”.
I feel the same way you do, a feeling of dislike, but towards Kyrgios, not Zverev.

Zverev may be arrogant, but at least he cares about the sport and gives it his all. Kyrgios is just a tool.

I think Nick has changed some since Laver Cup. He seems to be more committed to the sport but injuries are his nemesis right now. He’s at the age where he should be breaking through and going deep in tournaments consistently and he’s not doing that. He will end up like Dimitrov, a talented underachiever, if he doesn’t get his act together soon. IMO he needs a good coach who can clean up some of the raw edges, and keep him motivated and committed. It would be a brave man who would take that job on but Kyrgios desperately needs it.

1. His arrogance
2. His entitlement
3. His face
4. “Let’s gooooo”
5. “This is my court”
6. Did I mention his arrogance?
Forgot a few

His whining
Chewing necklaces (that's soooo not gangsta)
Punchable face cannot be stressed enough
going to Barca specifically to play Rafa on clay only to get wrecked by Chung
His whining
His 0-5000 record in Slams vs top 50 players
His vulturing of titles
His whining
His grinding
Him thinking he's the man after every 40 stroke point he wins and I only say 40 stroke cause it induces 40 strokes per rally to viewers
His lack of forehand
His whining
His lack of tennis brain
His arrogance
His whining

Don't like his on court attitude but at least he's one of the young guns producing real good results. Which was what most of you wanted...

How can there be "peer pressure" on an Internet Forum? Nobody's ostracizing you, whispering about you in the Middle School corridors or ridiculing your shoes. Watch Zverev matches, listen or read his pressers and make up your own mind about him. ;) He has a fair number of fans here, and if he wins a major, the Forum will be inundated with new Zverev lovers.

I assume this is pure Trollery on your part and I was dumb enough to take the bait, but there you have it.

I am trying to conform. I fear that my questioning the status quo may affect my personal safety, I will no longer be able to get a job or housing.....

shheeeeeeet, I swear I hate Zverev, guys I swear. Dont hurt me, I swear I hate him. Look at my browsing history, look I definitely hate him

It sounds suspiciously to me you only dislike him, not hate him. You're just not trying hard enough!;)

But, apart from that, what's not to like?

Stating i like zvereve and that i dislike shapovalov would affect my social standing on this forum. I will be ostracised and humiliated. Several people would block me there and then and my credibility lost forever. If people found out who I was in real life I would likely be beaten severely

Zverev reminds me of Rusty when he was winning back in the early 2000s. I couldn't stand the guy. A decade of injury riddled effort and a willingness to continue playing through the pain, showing up day after day, turned me into a Hewitt fan. Maybe I was wrong about him in the first place, and maybe Zverev just needs to demonstrate a little humility to get people on board.

Many posters whine nonstop because the NextGen hasn't stepped up. One does, and those same posters whine nonstop because he isn't 'nice'.

Welcome to the mindset of this board.

Especially when you are hating Zverevereverevereverevernevernevernever
People here love Fed and Nadal without reason. Why should we have any reason to hate Zverev.
Love and Hate are beyond reason.
Just kidding. Got not real problem with Zverev. Just don't like him. And when it comes to him I am always trolling.

Uhm, I hadn't noticed Aveere was disliked around here. Maybe because I hadn't been around lol.

I haven't noticed any arrogance or whining, but then I haven't watched him that much, especially lately... isn't he the player who saved a moth or something from a court? if so I like him. I liked him already actually. He's good.
