The match against Zverev this year was a very bad loss by Casper’s standards. Zverev is a demon in Bo3, particularly on clay, but not in Bo5.
Ruud previously showed he had Zverev’s measure at RG, so the 2024 result indicated that either he had gone backwards, some of his clay contemporaries had gone forward, or both.
Either way, 2024 French Open gave me more questions than answers about Ruud’s future at the tournament and I am now less bullish about his chances that I have been in the last 2-3 years.

Agree. Just wonder what might happen if GOATsipas were to have one of those days where he is hammering the angled off forehand and really isolated Ruud’s backhand side. Still, he would have to do it for at least 3 hours straight, and as you say Ruud wouldn’t be going anywhere. Ruud is a rock abe would be guaranteed to serve well all final.
