i have a habit of constantly changing between 1 and 2 handed backhands.

I have this habit. One day, I'll play a great match with a one-hander and decide to stick with it. About three days later, I'll play a poor match and blame it on my one-hander and change to the two-hander. Then about a week later, I'll play a match with my two-handed backhand, then decide it's too stiff and unnatural and so I'll switch to a one-hander AGAIN.

This habit has been going on for a year. Right now, I'm sticking with a one-hander, but I know I'll eventually switch to a two-hander again because of some poor match I played.

Do you think it'd be better if I just stick with the one-hander and improve it?

I'm really confused about my backhand right now.

btw, I'm going to always use the one-handed bh slice.

You have to stick with one and become natural with it. I used to use a 2-hander for a while because it was consistent, but there was no power in it. I used a one-hander, and after some time getting comfortable, I stick with it.

Just take some time off to decide which backhand you want to go with and then develop it in hitting sessions.

EDIT: Oh hey, I became a Hall of Famer on this post. Cheers!

Well let's see

2HBh

pros: consistent
cons: no power, stiff and unnatural

1HBh

pros: powerful, feels natural and loose, quite satisfying when I hit a good shot.
cons: slightly inconsistent and therefore afraid to take huge cuts.

I guess I'm going with a one-hander.
