I really hope Nadal never plays this "tournament" again

I had to show ignored content to see what you were quoting.

Confirmed that the ignore list is indeed saving my eyes from much stupidity.
Have you really ignored me? Funny, I don't even know who you are. But I'll pretend to be upset over it. Oh wait, I'm sure this post of mine is prob ignored!

Lol at some nerd on the internet bragging about their ignore list. As if I troll on here or something like that.

There you go, there was my 20 seconds of being upset that I am on ignore. Have a good life dude.

Makes perfect sense. The other guys in Nadal's group won their matches easier against the same guys Nadal struggled against.

Since they were up against the same guys as Nadal and won easier, it makes perfect sense for them to be better.
No it makes sense. Because somehow winning easier is more important than winning harder.

Turns out that some wins are not wins at all.

Winning easier shows higher dominance. And when it's against the same opponents within the same group, it matters.

It's not like Nadal was given different opponents. All the guys in his group had the same opponents as him and Zverev and Tsitsipas simply performed better against them and thus were more worthy of qualifying than Nadal.

Just look at Tsitsipas: he comfortably dispatched both Zverev and Medvedev, 2 guys Nadal struggled mightly against. Of course he performed better than Nadal.

Dude in the game of life, you either win or lose. You're telling me because a guy won less impressibly or less dominantly, it should not be a win? I'm sorry in sports it's pass and fail. There is no number grades on how much you won by unless we're talking about college football.

I'm more impressed with someone that battled through and won rather than someone who won gracefully and blew the other guy out. I guess that's why you're a Fed guy and I'm a Nadal guy. To each their own, I respect your opinion.

I mean, logically speaking, why would Nadal advance when 2 other guys did better than him within his own group?

This proves that you are being somehow punished if you lose a match. If you lose a match, the trade-off is that you have to be perfect in your other matches if there are 2 other guys doing well. Nadal should not have lost easily to Zverev. It's important how you lose as well.

And regarding your last point, sure, winning through a struggle is more epic, but that doesn't mean it's better.

Saving a matchpoint, coming back from 5-1 down, spending 3 hours against Tsitsipas to get another win and all that was WASTED TIME AND ENERGY. There is only one tournament where such a pathetic scenario is possible. Just to think Djokovic could keep fighting after saving matchpoints and winning back to back 3 setters in Rome. He could fight for the title until the last point.

Nadal should never play this "tournament" again. It doesn't deserve him. Even if he wins 3 matches in his group they will find a reason why he shouldn't play in the semifinals.

Congratulations to Nadal on YE#1 and now it's time to prepare for 2020, to play at tournaments where the conditions are fair for all players, where you can't lose a match and go out while another player loses a match and wins the title.
Why is it the Nadal fans who are the most salty, aggressive weirdos on this site? Christ.

This year it might be okay for Rafa since there were limited tournaments and Rafa did not need to play the U.S. Open since all he could do at best is to win it again but his ranking would be the same as 2019 and if he lost, his ranking would drop!

Nice to bump this. We should all be reminded that all that ever needs to be said of the Nadal is "I really hope he never plays again." No need for superfluous specificity.

the entire existence of that garbage called sh!tto world toast finals is a travesty in itself........challenger events are tougher to win than that pathetic exhibition annoying fans with lame outdated format and untimely scheduling.........tour should end with bercy and let the players have fun vacationing........

You admit to practicing like prostitution then?
If pointing out the stupidity of someone who repeatedly says stupid things in order to try and get them to shut the hell up saying the same stupid stuff over and over again is 'like hooking', then, sure.

Let me engage in more of the same. I don't believe I have admitted to anything  what I said was, as if what I said was so complicated it needed interpreting, "Don't make stupid threads, and nobody will be able to point out your stupidity, and nobody else will be able to agree with them".

I didn't realize the business of liking someones posts was such serious and touchy business... How, pray tell, does someone know if 1 person or 70 is going to like anything they say?

You seem curiously triggered.

strong is stronk, even though its 0.40 and close to deep night in tel aviv but strong is sentineling..:D

This really was the dumbest thread ever. Getting mad that it's not like the other tournaments because of winning a match but still being eliminated when if it was like the other tournaments he would have been eliminated anyway because of losing the other match.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha

how have I never seen this before
If you wish to laugh more, here is the parody made on the next day, when Federer lost the semifinal to Tsitsipas:

Yeah, if it was like every other tournament he'd have been dumped out in straight sets in the first round, and never got to show his awesome fighting qualities at all.
Does this win the best followup comment award or anything?
