G.O.A.T.
I'm sure I'm not the only one. I just think it would be epic, and I simply want to see it because I'm convinced that we're not going to regularly be seeing Fed-Nadal finals in Slams, and because we've never seen a Fed-Nadal USO final.
I don't think Fed is "over" as some have posited, but even if he has another upsurge in his career, Nadal-Fed finals just aren't as certain as before.
Think of what would be at stake.
For Nadal - 9th Slam, first USO, career slam, and vanquishing Fed on a stage where he's dominated, not to mention passing Connors, Lendl and Agassi in total Slams.
For Fed - a 17th Slam (!!), a crucial win over Nadal in their H2H, shutting up all those naysayers who say he is finished and that he can't beat Nadal, etc. And, of course, if Fed won, he would deny Nadal everything I listed above.
Will it happen? Unbelievably , they could actually be on the same half of the draw if the rankings don't change by time of the USO draw. Furthermore, there's no shortage of players who are good on fast hard courts who could prevent such a final.
