I Stand By Bouchard: Leader of the Genie Army, Ready to Rise and Conquer the World!

Remember she's a Canadian acting as a social media thot not a social media thot trying to act Canadian.
Well you said what she was wearing was a Canadian thing to do, not a "thot" thing to do.

Polar bear fur coat with G-string underneath would be a happy medium, but perhaps it's already been done. I don't have any type of "meta" account required to do the appropriate research. Perhaps spyspud can enlighten.

Where’s Giorgi?
She's hardcore retired. Hardcore in the sense that she claims she has zero interest in ever picking up a racquet again!

Most recently she went on a TV show called "Isola Dei Famosi," a sort of "Celebrity Survivor." She didn't last very long on the island, but seemed to really enjoy the studio TV appearances that came after.

Also pretty sure two boyfriends have come and gone since the retirement, but who's counting!

Let it die. She's become a national joke if tennis was much bigger but it's still very niche.

Andreescu obliterated her as even a memory, what she became on social media made her even less than a memory for tennis.

Please beat Venus.

I thought she had the tools to be a mainstay in the top 10 like a Svitolina was, they were from the same generation if I recall.

Injuries, motivation, pickleball and other gigs ground her want to be a pro tennis player down. She's only 31 which these days isn't that old in tennis terms, I wish her well.

Bouchard to Receive Main Draw Wildcard

Tennis Canada confirmed that Eugenie Bouchard will be awarded a main draw wild card at the National Bank Open in Montreal for what will be her last WTA tournament. Fans will have the chance to come and cheer on their hometown hero one last time as she will be making her 15th career appearance at the Canadian tournament. She could be in action at IGA Stadium either on Sunday (July 27) or Monday (July 28), depending on the outcome of the official draw which will be held on Saturday, July 26, at 11 a.m.

“We are very honoured that Genie decided to retire at her home tournament in Montreal and we look forward to celebrating her career and lasting heritage with our fans,” said Valérie Tétreault, Tournament Director, National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montreal. “She has been one of the most important figures in the history of our sport in Canada and a trailblazer who redefined what Canadian tennis could be. We are proud of everything she has done, as a player and role model, and we can’t wait to see her in action one last time at IGA Stadium this summer.”

Just saw her on-court interview after the Arango match.
I never followed Genie on tour at all. Never watched more than a few games here and there.
I was really surprised how poor her French was and that she didn't even have a French Quebec accent!

I was just on Wiki checking out EB's career stats out of curiosity. Whilst her GS results in 2014 were extremely impressive, I had no idea her results in WTA finals were so poor. 1-7 in singles finals and 1-4 in doubles finals. I know there were injuries and significant inactive periods but that her career results are arguably only slightly better than Maria Sakkari's to date. Top 10 is no mean feat but it really does seem like she underachieved significantly. Additionally, I can see how endorsements can take your energy away from the game and also your motivation, so maybe that played a part too but overall a highly successful career even if it became moreso off the court after that 2014 breakthrough.
