It looks like 2 slam SF, and 1 Final. The winner (drum roll) is probably Bouchard. I tried to be nice in Bouchard fan thread in showing that her fast decline as non-unique. :p

Edit: Despite her performance (or lack thereof), she has made $258,736 YTD. Not too shabby.

I agree with Harry: once she has paid the agent, the coach, the physio, the hitting partner, the tickets, the taxes, etc., what's left? Probably less than half of that. I read once that tennis players needed to be subsided by their federation when they were below the top 100. I can't imagine it being much easier on the WTA tour than the ATP tour.

Since she doesn't have any sponsors, I guess most of her money nowadays comes from advertising stuff on Instagram and especially the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Do I hear she could get a high 6-figure contract for that one? Hmmm.

That what happen to a player that has no confidence in herself and plays recklessly, with over hitting her groundstrokes over the baseline in all most every three groundstroke rally. Not sure what to do to fix Bouchard game now! Plays now like a low level ranked aggressive NTRP 4.0 amateur player!

Maybe washed up?
I shouldn’t be hard on her. Idk her. Only how she acts on the court.

Bouchard is a nice well behave player so face after her accident. Sure she not friendly yet after the match and the handshake with her opponent. But she is usually does it after loosing the match too. But at least it not a slap type handshake! LOL!

I hate how the women handshake in general on the WTA. Looks unnatural lol

Last chance for Bouchard to get back into a decent rankings without going through the qualifying and possibly save her career from sliding further down the rankings! Depends on who she draws in the first round however! Needs to cut UEs!

Does it depend on who she draws? She’s played no one better than Tsurenko in half a year and cannot find a way to be competitive

Unless Canada is also giving a wildcard to some 3.5 woman and pairing them to get her in R1, expect her to be the underdog

Bouchard sometime can be her old self like in 2014 where she just hits out and hits winners. Has not happen for since January 2019. Bouchard needs to get her rankings to mid 90s or better for direct entry into U.S. Open! Otherwise, face the brutal qualifying tournament which is 3 rounds and against some very tough opponents!

She’s in US Open MD, I believe. Lucky for her they select eligible players for US Open way in advance (at the time her ranking was in the 90s).

Bouchard, maybe?
Sure thing... I'm almost tempted to go watch her match (if she plays in the evening) to witnesses the miracle. Imagine, she hasn't won a tour match since the ground was still frozen and covered in snow...

Screw Halep, Barty, Osaka and other tennis players. Bouchard's match should be more entertaining. You don't get to watch everyday a social media "celebrity" and SI model playing tennis in a professional tournament.

Still another 1st round tough opponent for Bouchard in the Toronto Open............ this time it is her country woman, young Bianca Andreescu! Bouchard has no luck in the 1st round draw in 2019 it seems!

Well, I suppose the 'luck' is that she's facing an opponent who has had hardly any match play the past 4 months or so.
It'll be interesting to see if Bouchard can rise to this, and find some kind of motivation, even in the fact Bianca has stormed her way to becoming Canada's top female player.

Bianca probably isn’t healthy yet, will be surprised if she doesn’t withdraw.
I had the same thought last night when I was about to pull the trigger on tickets for the match, but in the end I changed my mind last minute for this exact reason.

I don't think she will withdraw before the match but possibly retire during the match or even worst, play with reserve or discomfort to protect herself. I don't have a good vibe about Andreescu until I see her playing again full force. I think If she was truly recovered as she claims in the media, she would've played DC this week, at least few rounds, to get back into competitive match form after such a long break.

I cannot remember loosing more the 5 straight matches in my career and Bouchard has almost double that! Wow! Her confidence got to be in the deep beyond now! :cautious:

For those looking for confirmation that Bouchard is having a psychological meltdown now that she’s a WTA nobody who cannot win a match anymore, just see her recent foot-in-mouth tweet after the Andreescu-Williams final

There’s a (self-inflicted) reason this thread is still alive and her fall is interesting, even enjoyable, to many people

No, genie, you couldn’t have won the tournament - work on winning a match for the first time since February as a more realistic first step :)

Wow! If she loose 1st round in the WTA challenger serie which officially does not have a name but uses the ATP designation “Challenger Series” as a placeholder. The WTA “Challenger” is hard to find TV coverage too. ITF it is easy to watch but not the entry level above ITF, the WTA tournament below the 125K.
she lost to babos. just not happening for genie. should she just get married and have kids?

Back to the future Harry ...... She's playing today 1R qualifications at Bronx Open (International) against Kanepi. Forget about USO qualifications; that's serious business....

What you say?

Bouchard 1st qualifying today is against Kanepi K. (Est)! It is at 1:30 P.M. CST? I think you can watch the qualifying rounds at U.S.T.A. website. I think it is a 3 round tournament to be place in the MD.
