Fifth break for Betterer
Nasty Drop for DC title.
Reeshard I appreciate the effort. Spend time with your friends and have some drinks & food.
Nice way to end this drop shot demo.
Richard played well and fought till the end, but Roger was just too good. No need to feel bad, no French would have done any better
Congrats to Gasquet, Tsonga, Monfils, Benneteau & etc. for making the final with great play and defeating the defending champs along the way. WELL DONE!
Allez Richard! Finishing the year off with a nice win!
Open De Caen
Another tournament win for Gasquet! Feel bad JJ was ill but Gasquet was having a great week.
Federer lucky as usual in Dubai!
Hope your back feels better soon. Allez Reeshard!
The flapping tongues of the white powder.
"Decu de devoir abandonner Hier. Jespere revenir gueri Le plus rapidement possible et plus fort !"
Good to hear. Come back strong!
Gasquet is looking good. So glad he's back. Just made a sweet volley against Almagro after a drop shot. Good times.
Which site are you using ,please..........
Who else has been considering Gasquet recently?
Great win for Reeshard.
Coming back from 1-4 down in the second set to close the match out in two sets is, sadly, unlike Richie. Hopefully he's coming back from his back injury with more aggression.
yeah Seth I was also liking the aggression and s&v.
Yesssssssssssssss! Great win in Estoril!
Allez Richard, a true champion!
Gasquet gutting out a tough win against the crafty Berlocq.
Aweome, awesome win today against Anderson.
What's up with the French players falling to the ground in victory after reaching the 4th round? Gasquet and Cornet did it
probably they are happy
You'd have to stand on RG clay, esp. Chatrier to understand.
Congrats Richard on your 400th win and a fine career so far!
First you totally dismantle dietFed and now you take out Kyrgios, displaying your fantastic talent once again for all the world to see at Wimbledon 2015!
Thanks Richard for showing the heart of a lion today in Wimby 2015. One of the best matches I've ever seen.
Congrats also to The Stanimal for the epic contest.
What a thread. It's been (and it still will be) tough to be a Richie's fan.
Gasquet: "Un nouveau Gasquet? J'entends ça à chaque fois que je gagne un match. Puis je perds et on repart dans les mêmes merdes (rires)."
Gasquet: “A new Gasquet? I hear that whenever I win a match. Then I lose and we’re back to the same sh!te (laughs)."
Reechard looking good. Will win Wimby !!
Flapping wings on cocaine? lol
"There are big players in semis... I'm the worst, you know. When you see Federer, Djokovic and Murray (raises eyebrows)... and me!"
Funny, modest guy. He knows that was his coup d'eclat though.
Joker is wiping the floor with him on Friday.
Overconfidence sometimes leads to a major fall.
See FO final.
How many times will you tell the same joke?
time for new material
As much as I'd ENJOY seeing Gasquet taking a swing - I live near his hometown -, don't forget he has taken exactly 1 (ONE) set from Joker over the past 21 sets.
That's 9 matches that include 4 breadsticks, the last one a month ago at FO (Novak 1,2&3).
By comparison, Wawa had taken 13 sets from the last 41 (13 matches) before FO15, including 9 of the previous 20 at Slams.
Nothing wrong with the philosophy of "Wait and see you never know", but you can rank upsets, and Gasquet here would be a MONUMENTAL one.
I have his win over Novak on DVD.
In slam tennis this deep past performance doesn't matter much as Stan showed us against Nadal. Momentum & confidence at the right moment is what matters.
The one thing Gasquet has going for him in this woeful H2H is that they've never met on grass - which is probably Djokovic's weakest surface and Gasquet's strongest one.
Great fight today! Congrats to Reeshard on an amazing 2015 Wimbledon!
Allez Richard! Great win last night over the Birdman to reach the US Open Quarters.
Was fortunate to be just behind Berdy's camp on Monday night. Seeing Richard play live, and play so well with such focus, was an incredible treat. I'm thinking he may surprise us against The Great One tonight.
I'll say this for Gasquet - I like watching him play because he gets 100% out of his athletic potential. He doesn't have the physical gifts of the big 4, but he maxes out what he has and you have to respect that. That, and I'm a sucker for an elite 1HBH.
Unfortunately, his wings will be clipped against the majestic golden eagle.
Showed some amazing grit shaking off MPs against Dr. Ivo, winning that match, and really challenging Rafa. I hope Richard can continue his run and eventually make it to and win a Grand Slam!
Absolutely. Grit is the key word. Gasquet kept giving his all at the very end of the year. Looks like he'll ben an alternate for the WTF but, of course, I won't be too surprised if a player pulls out do to injury and we see Reeshard in the WTF yet again.
Just imagine Richie finding his true form this spring and capturing the Coupe des Mousquetaires.
I like gasquet too,No doubt Gasquet is a real talent in Mens tennis and works very hard at it, yet to get up with the big boys-top 5 he needs to go to afterburners, they are already on afterburners and have gotten use to it, plus plan his tournaments and his atp points better, Murray has done this 4 titles 2015 2- m1k's,Queens club and Munich and defend 2nd AO plus others, he works less and is ahead of Federer-6 titles- 1 M1K, plus defend 2nd at Wimbledon and USO.
Murray has planned his ascent very well for many years, he is more of a thinker than you peeps give him credit for, To recap--Gasquet needs to do more planning ,plan where to play and get the most out of each he plays in, a debt payed.
Excellent points on Murray in the Gasquet thread. Maybe Murray will be more interesting next year then we think given the recent Fed exho victory. @Mainad will set this all straight though he won't post during live matches in this forum!
IMHO. Gasquet is unlucky talent born into wrong era, an era of very physical power baseline game on slow, high bouncing surfaces since ~2003.
I wish I could see him playing on classic grass courts.
Gasquet is currently perfecting his game in the tough, gritty courts of Oakland, California.
Wishing Richard a speedy recovery and a great 2016!
