From what I remember reading, Connors was playing a tournament in Switzerland (maybe Basel) that was simultaneously hosting a kiddie competition. They asked Jimmy to present the kiddie winner with his prize - I think a watch?? - and pose for a photo. Kiddie winner was _________ :)

I LOL @ this because my Junior tennis crew met Jimmy when we were like 11 at our club and Jimmy told us "don't get caught up in those videos games, stay on the court..." It was 1981...

Thanks, so now we know why Rogi's playing Shanghai. I take it that this implies that YE #1 is his priority (surely 300 is just a number for him and doesn;t matter, it has to be year end).

What an amazing picture. Two legends standing next to each other. Haha, you would normally think that the little kid should feel honored to be on a picture with Jimmy Connors. But in retrospect, I think it's Connors that should feel lucky here.

So it is confirmed that he needs to make the QF since this comes from ATP news ? What about the earlier calculation someone had posted about the zero pointer dropping off and Doha points getting added and so the requirement will be to only win his first match ?

If he indeed has to beat Wawrinka to get to 300, I am afraid he may show up a bit nervous and it is not a given. Kind of like how he narrowly missed the 287 record way back in 2010. It will be ironic if a fellow Swiss stops him from getting to 300 weeks at #1.

Sister CO's needn't cross the Atlantic so it just may get there a bit quicker.

Do you know I just finished my last square of the 99 a few weeks ago! It is so much stronger than even the 90 so I was eating less than a square at a time and only with a morning latte from time to time. Once again, merci!
