I stand by the swoosh

Federer looks good in the white top and I like that they've changed the logo on the headband. The other one was too intrusive. Nike didn't drop Federer, the deal was they would continue to endorse Federer but only as long as he played tennis so Federer cut ties. I don't own any Nike or Uni qlo nor do I intend to.

You people are silly.

Loyalty is one the most important values in the materialistic world we're living in.
I think Federer has tarnished his image forever by leaving Nike for Uniqlo.
This move is really the worst thing he could have done, betraying most of his fans who love the Nike brand as it represents excellence, quality and winning attitude.
Always been a nike guy, from Jordan to Federer, all things nike.
You don't leave Nike and expect nothing to happen, especially when it comes to wada affairs.

This is the beginning of the end for Fred and his greedy godfather Tony Godsick.
Mark my words...
Loyalty is crap. It allows crap to rule. Was a time where loyalty could have meant something but only if it was toward something good, honorable, and with integrity. These 3 traits stand on their own without loyalty. Loyalty now is only used know for the crap that needs to cover up truth and control their crap.

watching Declinerer play in his slim fit badly designed outfit is laughable to say the list
I saw a waiter dressed like this earlier today at Pizza Hut
Smart move from Nike to dump the old man
Will never win a GS with this kind of clownesque apparel

Yes, Uniqlo outfits are made for clowns haha. No one's gonna win a slam wearing those, not to mention 4 in a row.

Wait a second...

When an NBA player or Football player switches teams, usually their jerseys are burned. People who don't like Federer change can always burn their Nike.

How does a swoosh represent "excellence, quality and winning attitude" more than any other brand?

These "loyalty to a brand" threads are just remarkable. Do you feel reciprocated loyalty coming from the brand to you?

You didn't answer my question.
You didn't explain why a swoosh itself represents those values MORE than any other brand.
You didn't explain the connection between a select pool of great athletes wearing a particular brand and the brand itself as a result being more capable of representing those values.

All you did was list a select 3 great athletes that were/are Nike ambassadors, and then jump to the conclusion, stating that Nike is the best of the best.

Wow you must have been a great debator in high school...
Please explain why the LV, GG or even D&G logos when put on anything (from a tote bag to a belt buckle) convey luxury?
Your arguments are irrelevant.

Again, you didn't actually address the main point here.. why does the swoosh itself represents those values MORE than any other brand?

Furthermore, how is luxury correlated to this argument in any way?
You're trying to say that the general perception and beliefs tied to those brand names allow the class and/or luxury of any product with that brand attached to be instantly elevated.

The gap in logic with your analogy here is that you haven't demonstrated how those 4 aforementioned athletes wearing nike contribute to the elevation of the general perception of Nike, let alone elevating it to a point where it can represent the aforementioned values BETTER than other brands.

Told you.
Uniqlo and Federer are out.
It's gonna be downhill from here on now.
Nike only endorses the best, they knew he was finnish when they refused to sign him again. Smart move from nike.

I have always been a Nike guy. But they just signed Colin Kaepernick to their "Just do it" campaign. I think Fed may have had some info on this early on. I'm officially done with Nike, and I'm seeing a large number of people that are going to boycott this move by Nike. "See Johan Kriek" on Facebook. Also, I will be dumping all my Nike stock 1st thing Tues. Morning.

Wow. You must have some fancy pizza huts where you live.

Kaepernick is schmucky.

But that doesn’t take away from the immortality of the FO 2009 Rogi kit.

Rogi’s Classic Kits outweigh this guy by a wide margin.

Bad decision for Nike, the dude is no hero for doing that. Also hearing LeBron talk politics recently taped in a barber shop was equally disgust and cringeworthy.

Nike will be tarnished by this CK thing.

Again: Federer will never win anything in uniqlo clothes. Their fabric is bad, just look at how he was sweating yesterday. Federer is used to nike's superior fabric, th famous Dry Fit. He lost because he wasnt wearing it. Another evidence.

Bad decision for Nike
Agree. Possibly turrible.

Nike’s core will always be their running/training gear. I expect they're about to learn a hard lesson - if even 10% of those people choose not to buy Nike it’s going to be a big hit. And the stock owners just saw it (finally) rally over 80 recently.

Joker’s UniBlo grand slam kits were paint jobs that had adidas materials and UniBlo logos sewed on.

PJ are common in pro tennis, they do the same with rackets and strings. Very tricky things happen behind the scenes and inside the goldmine.

My 2 cents since I don't care that much about brands, I just wear whatever style I think looks cool at the moment.

But here are the current players still in the 2018 US Open:
Nadal: Nike
Del Potro: Nike
Cilic: Fila
Nishikori: Uniqlo
Djokovic: Lacoste
Millman: Lotto

Looks like quality and winning attitude is present in all brands so who cares what brand these guys wear... Just play tennis.

btw did you see how much Nadal was sweating vs Thiem? They showed the pile of wet towels he used during the match. I'm pretty sure the main factor for these pros sweating so much is the high intensity of play, humidity, and heat, not what type of fabric they are wearing.

I quote this AGAIN after Nike loses $4.2 billion in capital from the promotion and signing of Colin Krapanick
How does 3.2% drip in stock price represents $4.2Billion in loss of capital, especially when the stock climbed 27.5% so far this year?

Nike stood up for something they believe in, and they put that belief above financial gain. They took a risk.
This is actually a powerful move. More corporations will follow. Nike have acted like leaders. I applaud them.

Very unlikely. Watch some of Novak older practice sessions for example. On the lower left side of his back you could often observe two small silver squares. This is Uniqlo "logo" they use on their activewear, very easy too miss. Novaks shirts also had their usual tennis chest and right sleeve logos + ND logo on the sleeve either in or without a box. Now if you add the fact that those shirts were available for sale with silver squares logos, what do you think is more likely? That they added them to Novak's practice shirt made of some godly dry material that we mortals can only dream of to trick those 5 people who look at this stuff while not doing so on his match gear or... that they just put extra logos on one of their regular shirts? The cut is pretty much the same when comparing to retail. Only shirts with missing details were RG13. You're obviously not very knowledgeable about the subject if you're making your claims so surely.

It will be interest if the youth market which is the major aim of Nike now to dominate will embrace Nike’s new message of social injustice to help sell their products.

Nike now has take sides political with the globalist agenda it seems! Not liking this move! Have to think if I want to continue buying Nike products!
Other details this viral Nike boycott has thus far failed to take into consideration: whether it also means never rooting for Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, Texas, Baylor, or any other college that is sponsored by Nike; whether it extends to Converse, Hurley, and all the other brands owned by Nike; whether boycotters will also forgo brands like Under Armour, which has also delved into political waters and opposed Trump; and whether the service members being used as justification for the boycott want to be used as props
