I thought Serena and Justine had a poor relationship!

At the end of the Miami final both Serena and Justine embraced and exchanged some pleasantries. I found this odd and expected a typical cold handshake. I was under the impression that ever since the infamous 'hand' incident at the FO 2003 semi-final that they were bitter enemies. I did not realise that they appeeared to have made up. Did anyone else find it strange how warm and friendly their embrace was at the end of that match that Justine should have in all honesty won but lacked the belief to pull it out! I don't think she choked but lacked that extra bit of desire that has been missing from her game in big matches over the past year. Serena, by contrast fought very valliantly to the bitter end and displayed her great fighting qualities.

Each of these players whom many people dislike for one reason or another found each other! Something in common. Awww, how nice.

i found it odd too, especially with justine basically handing the match to serena. i wonder what serenas reaction would have been had justine won 6-0 6-2 as she should have? maybe justines going bi.

During the match the announcers talked about how they both girls say the French Open incident was in the past now and they've put it behind them.

Maybe they wisely got past a four year old incident and decided not to harbor negative feelings about it!
