There are more differences in woodies than todays graphite shell rackets. Depending upon the maker, model and year, there were lots of differenct woods and other materials used in making the wood frames. These materials were laminated together to produce a layered frame which had playing characterists based on these combinations. I have found that the rackets that used graphite laminations were the most powerful and stiff but also the most likely to warp. Unfortunately, these were some of the best frames like the donnay borg pro and wilson JK midsize and many other famous models. If you can, try to ask the seller if the racket lays perfectly flat on both sides since you can easily get a warped woodie on **** since most of the sellers have no idea to check for this. Try to buy a wilson jack kramer autograph, these were solid player rackets that usually aged very well. Enjoy, Joe
