The guy who achieved the NCYGS just few years ago, and was going strong after the same achievement just last year, is only normal to be hyped more about the CYGS, than the guy who had not been able to win 2 consecutive slams for more than a decade now.How is it obvious he couldn’t win CYGS? He has a better record than Novak at Wimbledon and USO, same record in Paris.

Fed and Rafa would have won CYGS too if both of their rivals was playing at 40%The guy who achieved the NCYGS just few years ago, and was going strong after the same achievement just last year, is only normal to be hyped more about the CYGS, than the guy who had not been able to win 2 consecutive slams for more than a decade now.
i recall those good old summer days(2008) n nadal in the legendary wimbledon finalI'm an Angels guy.
i recall those good old summer days(2008) when i multiplied my deposit by 200 in about 20 days span, i don't know how but i did it especially since it was my first season when i started to follow mlb, after those events everything was on nadal in the legendary wimbledon final
nice sweet memories, i like to hear this, thanks for sharingAh, the good 'ol days. I used to love attending baseball games, the Angel's stadium was like less than an hour away from where I grew up. My uncle would take me and the other kids and inundate us with food and drinks, sometimes we used to even do BBQ outside the stadium from the back of his car, and take our food inside. Great times.

He will win without dropping a setFed will win AO 2020
I believe in Fed, Craig Tiley, the smoke causing the roof to close versus his rivals, and Marin Cilic being there in the end to lay it up for Fred.
This just looks like sour grapes because the Nadal hype train lost a bit of steam.
There was NEVER any Nadal hype to be honest. At least to the true fans.
Nadal NEVER has and NEVER WILL BE the favorite for the Australian Open. There is a reason he has ONLY won 1 title - which was 11 years ago! This is his ABSOLUTE worst slam surface by a VERY BIG MARGIN.
Nadal has been comprehensively beaten in the AO by a laundry list of players in the past decade. Players who he would NORMALLY beat everywhere else.
Djokovic is the LEAST of Nadal's problems at the AO. Because in all likelihood, Nadal will NOT EVEN get to the final to play Novak. There are at least 5-6 players who could EASILY beat Nadal in AO. He's beaten by lesser players before in worse circumstances.
Nadal is barely a top 5 favorite at the AO. There NEVER was any hype train. He might be ranked #1 but his true potential in this tournament is barely in top 5. He is far more likely to do damage in F.O, UsOpen and even Wimbledon.
Fed Djokovic 2016 AO rematch installing
AO is using Rafa the most of all the players to hype the tournament. It’s all over the place in social media. Interesting cause he ain’t the favourite. That court isn’t a great surface for him. Think they just use him in advertising cause he is popular there. There was NEVER any Nadal hype to be honest. At least to the true fans.

True was not a fan of Zebraerer.Such a shame Federer lost in that great kit, especially considering how meh his 2017 AO one was
Zamn forget the air quality levels. If Joker is showing up dressed like that just hand him the trophyFor anyone looking for the Djokovic 2020 kit here it is:

That's more these guys' style.

well done, stability is a sign of skill.. you're on the same tune each time prior to the start or whenever the tourney is in full swingThere was NEVER any Nadal hype to be honest. At least to the true fans.

This is definitely something that the tour will have to look into, and if it does indeed provide any advantage it should and must be banned. Not all players can afford this or have the sponsorships to provide them this level of technology. Asterisk city for this AO title folks. The head band is state of the art, it will make the smoke come out of the two ends and not interfere with his body whatsoever. He's actually hoping it's as smoky as possible. Its legality is questionable but I don't think the tour can ban it in time.
Just like his cryogenic egg this will give him a serious competitive advantage.
Ok, you are obviously just a fckn troll... Buy...How is it obvious he couldn’t win CYGS? He has a better record than Novak at Wimbledon and USO, same record in Paris.

Fed will win AO 2020
I believe in Fed, Craig Tiley, the smoke causing the roof to close versus his rivals, and Marin Cilic being there in the end to lay it up for Fred.
And the Wet Bulb Temperature Test if needed.
Its the other way around actually. It's not even about winning. It's about the fact that in 19 tries, Nadal has failed to win a set. That's very demoralising if you're Nadal. He had to play out of his mind to push the 2nd set into a TB. Novak on the other hand seemed to have more gears which he didn't even have to use. That's scary if you're Nadal.
Rafa is usually recovering from the previous year (or from medical treatment) by the time he arrives in Australia, so he's not supposed to be ready for the AO.How many of last 10 AO has Nadal won?
When it mattered most, 2013 US Open
Remind me again, when's the last time Nadal beat Djokovic on hardcourts?
The guy who achieved the NCYGS just few years ago, and was going strong after the same achievement just last year, is only normal to be hyped more about the CYGS, than the guy who had not been able to win 2 consecutive slams for more than a decade now.
I know what you're saying but...many people in this forum [think] Djokovic is a sure lock to beat Nadal in any of the future hard court encounters between the two just because he managed to win the last nine hard court encounters in straight sets.
I dunno about easily, but yes, he is quite vulnerable at the AO, although I do think Wimbledon still is his worst slam based on his 2012-2017 stretch of poor results. There are at least 5-6 players who could EASILY beat Nadal in AO. He's beaten by lesser players before in worse circumstances.
You mean beaten by lesser players before in better circumstances, but yeah mostly agree. He's beaten by lesser players before in worse circumstances.
Recovering from the month long break that everyone else had??? How come more than a few times he took off from the early HC season but was somehow "fully recovered" for the clay season? Lame excuse....Rafa is usually recovering from the previous year (or from medical treatment) by the time he arrives in Australia, so he's not supposed to be ready for the AO.
When it mattered most, 2013 US Open
The US Open is the most prestigious hardcourt event in the world, and that is why Rafa has a 2-1 h2h vs Djok at the US Open, and has won more US Opens than Djok.
Its the other way around actually.
Djokovic doesn't have a gear to beat peak Rafa at the US Open.
The only year Djokovic beat Rafa at the US Open was 2011, and if you watch that match you see Rafa's confidence was extremely low because of prior loses, so Rafa was too nervous to go down-the-line on big points and that made it very easy for Djokovic to win 2011.
When Rafa goes down-the-line with force, there is nothing Djokovic can do
was not paying too much attention to the history of this poster...You do know you are conversing with a poster who is trolling Nadal and his fans, right?
well done, stability is a sign of skill.. you're on the same tune each time prior to the start or whenever the tourney is in full swing
Nop. But they can win sets off Djokovic on HC

I don't think Djokovic's 2020 AO will go exactly the same as 2019 if he meets Nadal. Sure hes the favourite, but lets remember it wasn't just Nadal that Djokovic crushed last year.
Between his QF and SF matches he lost only 6 games I believe. He was on ridiculous form going into that final.
So only Federer, of the 5 you mentioned, has beaten Djokovic in a 5 set match on a HC before, with the last time being 10 years ago I believe.
Your theory really stands up well, bud.
It was really only his semi final that showed up that Novak was getting into peak form for the final. The quarters was nothing special.

I remember that SF in particular. He was outstanding.
How crazy I was to think Rafas form was good enough to beat that, looking back LOL
Not at all. Novak was only good in the SF, where he seemed on fire. He said he wanted to lose less games than Nadal did in his SF.
The FACT is that Nadal looked vastly better than Novak did before the AO 2019 Final. We still saw the scoreline.
One thing I can guarantee you, if Novak and Rafa meet in the AO 2020 final, Nadal won't win a set.
That being said, I don't expect them to be in the final.
Maybe so. But I think Nadal only looked great for what people expected of him.
I mean, looking back, we all got carried away, but he never really faced anyone worth a challenge to him.
Berdych has not been a force for years, and then Tsitsipas came in with hype cos he beat Fed, but Nadal poses a difficult matchup to him, and just blitzed him away.
A good performance by Nadal, BUT in hindsight , he was never really challenged, which he said himself, till the final.
On your other point, who do you expect to not reach the final? One or both?
Look I've been watching Nadal for almost 15 years now, and I can tell you that Nadal was pretty good in AO 2019. He just got spooked by Novak in the Final, because of the matchup and the history.
Anyone else in the final, Nadal would have won the tournament. We are trying to find excuses because Nadal lost tamely to Novak and say he wasn't looking good.
The truth is that Nadal played a really bad match in the final. He got nervous as soon as he was broken in set 1 and froze. Novak has a big matchup edge on Rafa, and Nadal also lacks belief when he is facing Novak.
The Wimb 2018 SF where Nadal played better and still lost, further cemented the lack of belief in Nadal and that is what spooked him in AO 2019. That Wimb match was pivotal.
I expect Novak to reach the final in AO 2020. And to face Medvedev or Federer.
That being said, I would love to see Thiem/Tsitsipas or any other players make it to the final, even though I don't expect to.
Nadal needs to concentrate on F.O/Wimbledon and the UsOpen. AO has never been good for him, and the surface doesn't work for his spin and his game. You only need to see the action he gets off the surface in the UsOpen vs in the AO - where his ball just sits up and he keeps running, defending and getting injured.
