Absolutely correct.
Djokovic is a very friendly, honest guy. I met him at Shanghai 2014 in a practice session. That was a Wonderful experience. Yet to meet roger or rafa (man I wish so....).
And Beatles, why would you fly all the way from Nyc to IW?? don't you like USO?? (United slugfest open nowadays)
Because she is from my home state of California. :)

personality is not something people choose
But Nadal can still choose to be less competitive and be more relaxed if he really wants to. He has already had an extraordinarily great career with lots of accomplishments. Why is he still hungry to win more and more titles? Why is he still working so hard on his game? When will he become satisfied with his achievements and become more casual and relaxed and allow other players to win? Why not he be more generous towards his less accomplished opponents and stop making maximum effort for each and every point and start competing in a very casual and relaxed manner?

That is the nativist theory: we are born with a fixed personality which cannot be substantially changed.

The behaviorist theory suggests the opposite: we are mainly a product of the environment, so the education, external influence and habits hugely determine our personality and character.

Probably the truth lies in between.

not every person can be influenced by education or anything else what you've said.. thus the nativist theory is more likely to be truth

yes, but a person has their personality based on these factors, so they can't change it just by choosing to. That means that Nadal can't jsut be more "friendly jovial and humorous", just like i can't smile or laugh in public, even though i can when i'm alone

Because that's what he likes in life - winning in tennis? I love winning in tennis too, i just suck at it

He's a professional athlete and #1 in his chosen sport. He's supposed to be ruthlessly competitive, stop trolling and wasting everyone's time. Nobody else on the planet cares whether Rafa is relaxed or casual. He didn't win 19 slams being some phelgmatic guy who sips cocktails while lounging on the beach. He is what he is and his career eloquently proves his personality has worked for him, to put it mildly.

Is that you Pepe? Amor y paz? Did Mirka pay you to sabotage Nadal now you're done with Djokovic?

I feel that competition is an evil. It differentiates people as winners and losers which leads to disappointment and depression. I tell this from my own personal experience. I would really love it when the international sports are more fun oriented without any winner or loser or champions or titles. People should realize that Nadal is competing so hard only for his own selfish interest and his personal pride and glory. In what way are you or anybody else going to be benefitted when Nadal keeps on competing very hard and accumulates titles after titles. Will Nadal be ready to share his pride and accomplishments with you or anybody else? Why are people supporting competition so much? According to me, competition is the most painful thing in this world. I wish people start supporting friendly, merciful and compassionate people rather than selfishly hard working and mercilessly competitive people. I honestly feel that this world would be a very good place when there is no competitive sports or competitive people like Nadal. I respect Nadal for his talent, attitude and accomplishments but I do not feel at home with him as I feel he totally lacks any mercy, compassion or friendliness and is a bitter minded selfish person who is always obsessed only with hard work, success and accomplishments. I feel that this world would be a very good place to live when friendly and merciful people (not only towards humans but also towards animals) are victorious rather than ruthlessly hard working, ambitious and competitive people like Nadal.

You should learn from him (how to befriend animals):

Is this a real photo? Or is it photoshopped? I will be happy if the above photo is a real one and Nadal is really friendly and compassionate towards animals and towards less accomplished human beings. But then why did he say in that interview that he does not like animals especially dogs and that he doubts their intentions. Anyway I will be really pleased if Nadal is friendly and compassionate towards animals also. But is the above photo of Nadal real? Does Nadal really like animals?

I am not able to find the photo of Nadal with that animal that was posted by you, in the above link. But I saw the photo of Nadal relaxing in beach along with his team mates. In that photo, I actually like Nadal since he is very casual and relaxed. I wish Nadal is always relaxed and friendly like that. But in certain photos which I see on internet, especially when Nadal is in action on tennis court, he appears to me to be very fiercely competitive and always fired up and tensed. I feel disturbed when I see those photos of Nadal. But I wish Nadal is more friendly and relaxed and enjoys his life with this friends and family rather than being always fired up and focused on winning.

Unfortunately I am not able to play the video. I get the following error: The media could not be played.

But anyway, I like Nadal in the photos that I saw in that website. I find him to be quite friendly and cheerful in those photos and I wish he is always like that. Also I wish Nadal is nice and friendly towards animals also and stops seeing animals in a negative way.

May be my initial perception about Nadal is wrong since I have not moved personally with Nadal or any other tennis player. My opinion is based on the photos that I see in the internet and news papers where mostly I find Nadal to be very fiercely competitive and always extremely serious and hungry to win. So kindly pardon me if my initial opinion about Nadal is false.
