I know you guys will say 2009 Rafa done it he will do it again but ı dont think so. This 5 hour match took all off his chances. He isnt 22 anymore. Congrats Fed for the 18th. I would really like to see Rafa win AO 2nd time but sometimes things just dont happen.

haha, nice one OP. Did he look tired? Not at all. Was Fed moving well on Thursday? Not at all.
Rafa's got 1,5 hand on the trophy already

Nadal really has no chance, but in all honesty no matter how quick he finished semi he still wouldn't stand a chance against Roger.
Just remember UO 2015, unless you are at peak of your powers, you won't stop him.

I dont try to anti jinx anything. This Dimitrov match was very tiring. Nadal himself isnt so young anymore. Rafas only chance Fed himself not feels all that great. Maybe that will happen but ı dont think so.

Hmmm....Federer also just came through a long and difficult 5 setter and has complained of another muscle tear so his fitness and readiness are also on the line. If both turn up for the final it seems they are probably evenly matched.

I know you're insecure but get a life man! You realize that neither of them will give you any money if they win?

I believe the match is going to be closer than people expect.
Rafa hasn't played for months, so his body can reasonably recuperate.

But he will need to hit deep in the court, or Fed will exhaust him side to side.

One unknown factor will be how long will Fed's knee hold after 6 victories and 2 five setters?

For Fed to have any hope, he will need to win the first set.
But i still think Rafa will get it done, probably in 5.
He's been clutch on important moments, and that's the whole thing in tennis.

Federer is 35, 5 years older than Nadal, 5 years on the wrong side of 30 and most pros retire before they even reach 35. Nadal OTOH has always been much fitter and physically stronger than Federer.

no no... Federer's doctor told him that if he takes off 6 month, he will add 3 more years to his career. so that is why Roger said it was worth it to take off 6 month

Fed's in awesome shape for a 35yr old but as stated his years over Nadal are the wrong side of the curve. Fed even in his prime was physically no match for Nadal but now..........Nadal is at the age when historically a lot of players think about retirement, whereas Fed is still playing at an age when most have already long retired. Federer's layoff/long off-season has definately helped him to get in better shape than in the last few years when he played a full schedule.

Oh yeah .Completely irrational and I still believe in it.

Stupid antijinx thread. Since 2013, Dimitrov had played Nadal tougher than Federer. Federer will be happy to win a set.
You should watch the Basel final of 2015.

And don't tell me it doesn't count or whatever.

Both were desperate to win it.

both players' forms are mystery at this point.
it's crab shoot.

5th set is a nightmare with nadal.

Roger vs Rafa : 34 matches. Nadal leads 23-11. Nadal leads in Grand Slams 9-2. Nadal leads in GS finals 6-2. Nadal leads in Australia 3-0. Nadal leads on hard courts 9-7. Nadal leads on surfaces not clay 10-9. Nadal leads Fed on just about every stat other than indoor hard courts. So Federer fans... start your rain dance now!!!

Agassi said yesterday that the difference between a 35 year old tennis player and a 30 year old is "beyond belief. It's just epic the difference."

He should know.

It doesn't matter if Roger had a walk over 8 days ago and Rafa played 12 hours the day before the final, Rafa still has every advantage in the final because he's 5 years younger.

Can we stop making excuses already (both fan bases.) Yes, Nadal is five years younger but Federer has an extra day to rest and both players are past their primes. They are both coming off injury lay-offs. Also, Nadal has looked like crap in slams for over two years whereas Federer has has more success in those years. This match is being played on a hard court (not clay.) Yes, it is a high-bouncing hard court which gives Nadal the advantage but it is also slightly faster conditions this year. Really, the conditions are as neutral as they possibly can be for both players.

Whichever player wins will deserve it and will be the best player on the day especially if Federer can somehow overcome his mental demons at this late stage vs Nadal. If he is to be called the undisputed GOAT then Federer should be able to do it, right? If he doesn't do it, he will still be the achievement GOAT until somebody surpasses his records most importantly the slam count.

Not sure what you're talking about. I quote you twice and I'm spending too much time on you? lmao

You've gone off the deep end man. Relax, get out of your mom's basement and get some fresh air. You're jinxing and poking Federer voodo dolls isn't going to change the result of the match nor will it affect the life of either nadal or federer. They will continue to be millionares.
