Identify these raquets

I'm thinking of getting into tennis, so I got out my parent's old racquets. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about these specific ones. Value, opinions, etc. Also, can a beginner use these?

The open throat frame is a Head Vilas. All are over 30 years old. I would not start playing using old wood frames.

I was never a wood collector..
Someone that knows wood sticks may chime it, or google them..
Value....is only what someone interested in willing to pay for them.
Also they don't look pristine and if they are warped ( not stored properly & with the no frame vise - they could be wall art).

To me, what is more important than the frames are the stories and memories about them ( and tennis ).
Talk to them, get the stories....they will last forever!
Which you can share, if you span and have little tennis minnows....
The best gifts are shared memories and events! Not material things which you buy yourself..
Then the frames will now have important sentiment value.....truly better than just selling them and making a few bucks...


As a beginner, I would suggest a modern graphite frame, 100 head size about 11 oz. 16 x 19...60 - 200 bucks

You don't want to use them... You need to hang them on a wall as decorations!

I posted you photo for you. the only good racquet you have there is the Rossignol C-12 Graphite. That was a top of the line wood/graphite open throat racquet back in about 1980. If you would like to take up tennis you will have an easier time playing with graphite racquet
