If Federer reaches the French Open semifinals...

Yes, it is all about winning a Grand Slam, but pretty cool that if Federer reaches the French Open semifinals, he will be the first player, man or woman, to ever reach at least 8 semifinals at all four Grand Slams. Currently, him and Margaret Court are the only players to ever reach 7 semifinals at all four Grand Slams.

No other man has even reached 6 semifinals at all four Grand Slams. Evert and Navratilova reached at least 6 semifinals at all four Grand Slams.

It's pretty awesome anyhow for a player beyond his 30-ies to make a semifinal at a GS. That 'record' you speak of is, however, only relevant to Fed-freaks. No-one else will ever mention it.

It would be remarkable if he manages it though. Not that I'm counting on it - as shown in Rome (the surface and circumstances being most close to RG), Fed is very well capable of losing to any player-on-fire way before that stage of the tournament. He will need a friendly draw to start with.

Another interesting stats presented by McEnroeisanartist. You are honestly quite amazing, mate.

Yes, I agree. He's amazing, tbh. :)

And, objectively, just think about Fed's Australian Open semifinal- streak, 11 consecutive SFs (and still counting). I mean, Fed has a lot of sick records but that's one of the sickest, imo :)

Pretty impressive for a guy who almost never won Roland Garros (won THREE 5-setters the year he won Roland Garros). But then again, there is nothing impressive about losing a bunch of big matches.

By this logic, Nadal almost never won the Australian Open. Just sayin'.

8 semi finals in every major, wow !! Just that by itself is as impressive as the career of Hewitt, Murray and Roddick.

He won 2 5-setters that year. The same number as Nadal in winning his only Australian Open.

Wow-that is an amazing stat! A tennisplayers greatness is not only measured by the amount of slams they win, but on their whole career - as Nadal likes to say.

Incredible - it is actually those stats that impress me most about Fed - the consistency. All the GS semi finals and quarter finals in a row are incredible.

Something that Rafa never managed but a number of reasons for this.

This is a very impressive stat. I would've thought Graf would have done something similar, but it turns out she only made 5 semi-finals at the AO.

On a more mundane but still impressive note, if Federer reaches the quarter-finals, he will break the record for most slam QF appearances by a man, with 42. Currently he and Jimmy Connors are co-holders of the record with 41.

Yeah his sickest record IMO is 36 GS quarter finals in a F****** ROW

:shock::shock:
