If grass was clay and clay was grass

what would people's careers look like if all the clay tournaments were turned to grass and the short grass season was turned into a clay court tournament.
How many players would have significantly more titles or would there have been grass court specialists with smatterings of titles all over ? Who's careers would have been impacted the most and what do you think their careers would be like ? disregard the fact that this will never happen and just use imagination.

Roddick and Hewitt would remain at the top for much, much longer.

Daniele Bracciali, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Mahut would've made Top10. Santoro would still be playing at age 45.

If grass was clay and clay was grass, then all the players in the world would have possibility to practice on the grass courts in their home countries.
Currently, everybody can practice on clay and hard courts (less than on clay), but not on grass. This situation is very unfair! The Wimbledon tourney should become an exhibition tournament (in a tennis museum).

If "ifs" and "butts" were candy and nuts... we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

i suppose we should just get rid of all speculative threads and focus solely on statistics. no what if federer switched frames. what if nadal couldn't play with poly. what if luxilon was never invented. this is supposed to be fun. if you don't want to speculate, why bother showing up to say "oh great , another what if thread" . espn's program is full of what if's and i bet some of you guys watch that to see what a team needs to do to beat another team. that's a what if conversation as well. they're fun to have. what if the yankees get the 24-0 pitcher and a-rod gets suspended for the year... fun to talk about

What if Federer was Spanish and Nadal was Swiss would Federer be the King of Clay and would Nadal be the 'GOAT'?

If Federer was a girl would he have a favourable h2h against Serena.

Let's just carry on the hypothesis, there are endless ifs and buts to explore till the cows come home to eat the clay which is in fact grass.

let's just try to speculate on the title threat first. instead of filling it with more if's. that's the point of this thread. does sampras have more titles. who would be multi slam winners. does henman and rafter have better careers. and of course where do the cows go

Yup, another "if" thread. I do hate it for the great grass players like Roddick though, the entire grass season is basically 2 tournaments long (not count the 1 in Germany and the Rhode Island). I really wish there were more grass events......it would also help Lisicki on the WTA who is great on grass and so-so on all other services.

Thank you. They laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian - they're not laughing now.

With a nod to to the late great Bob Monkhouse, eh...batz? :)

Whether grass is clay
Or clay is grass
Rafa Nadal will still pick his ***

(Just my twopennyworth!)
