Did you know that Ashaway's legendary Kevlar was once used by Andre Agassi?! We had to try it! And then wanted to talk all about it! During this episode, Steve Crandall from Ashaway joins Michelle and JW (the string guru you all know and love!) to talk all things Ashaway string and string trends. Steve explains the way Ashaway was founded and why his Kevlar and Zyex strings are so unique. We even dive deeper into a mini-playtest we conducted with Crossfire ZX and Monogut ZX. Plus, we debate whether too many players are using polyester strings in their racquets in their racquets.

I'm not seeing the Podcast being up on the Website, or on Youtube, although I've now found it on Spotify.

I enjoyed this episode immensely. Ashaway has been my string of choice for a few years now.

I know they mentioned Michele’s tension on a full bed of Monogut ZX, but they did not mention the tensions of the Kevlar hybrid. Do you happen to know what the tensions were in the hybrid @TW Staff ?

Have you thought about switching to the hybrid vs your normal pollys?
@skydog

I haven't...although this kevlar hybrid gets me thinking! The biggest reason is because I do like a dead feel on the string bed and hybrids often feel a bit more lively to me. I should be honest though, I haven't played with enough to completely turn it down.

Well, I have strung Crossfire ZX as +6lb for the kevlar mains (vs soft poly) and the zyex crosses even up to like 10lb looser (with prestretch) than the poly. You should try upping the mains tension!
