If Jack Sock decided to get a 'supercoach' who would be a good choice? Courier or Roddick?

Overall, Jack Sock had a decent year. He didn't break through in GS this year but he improved here and there. Anyways, if he decided to hire a 'supercoach' who would be a better choice? I'll break down the two former players.

Jim Courier: Year end No.1, 4 GS(2 AO, 2 FO, but made three other finals 1 FO, 1 W, 1 US) Made 2 World tour finals. Won 5 Masters titles(IW, Miami, Rome, IW, Rome) and now a commentator & Davis Cup captain.

Andy Roddick: Year end No.1, 1 GS(1 US, but made 4 other GS finals. 3 Wimbledon and 1 more US) Made World tour SF 3 times. Won 5 Masters titles( Montreal, Cinci, Miami, Cinci, Miami) Now, he's a part time commentator.

Overall, I think Courier would be a better choice because he's been through it all. Seen it from a player's point, commentator's point, and captain's point. They both have a similar game style(aggressive baseliner), wicked spin on their forehand, lacky backhand, big serve. He's also good on clay and Jack Sock's best surface besides hard court is clay. Jim could take Jack up in the rankings. I know Roddick has about the same criteria but to me Courier has more insight of what the game is now. That's just my opinion. What's yours?

I'd pick Courier because he has had so much experience coaching (Davis Cup), and Sock already has a pretty good serve. Courier had similar weaknesses (a relatively weak backhand), and he was a very good mover. Sock needs all the help he can get with movement/footwork.

Courier was the better player and has more experience.

But Sock is more likely to like Roddick. They're both pretty immature.

I'd pick Roddick - he is fresh off the tour and understands the modern game better than Courier would I think.

But Courier commentates on American TV and watches almost all the big pro matches, and has for years. He's very inciteful and much more intelligent than most other tennis pundits. Roddick said recently he only watches the last stages of majors and doesn't follow the pro game beyond here and there.

Roddick isn't coaching anyone in the future and has said repeatedly this. Courier may be open to it-- and I think he'd be an awesome coach. He did OK as as a DC coach. Courier is sort of "forgotten," but he has twice as many majors as Muzz does and Courier had a HOF career.

I'd pick Courier. As much as I like Roddick, I don't see him as a "big picture" guy. Courier is not only good on match tactics, he understands the bigger picture. He uses terms like "that serve was a future investment" and things like that.

Courier was also the greatest American clay court player in the Open Era. Sock needs clay discipline if he wants to be successful. One of Sock's biggest weaknesses right now is lack of patience and working a point. Courier was a master at this and would help Sock by leaps and bounds in that area.

Out of those, Courier. Definitely not Roddick. Roddick would try to take the aggression out of Sock's game and turn him into a pusher. It would be like the end of 2003-04 Roddick again.

Courier seems more mature and intelligent than Roddick. He also strikes me as being more passionate about the sport. I'd go with Courier for sure

If Roddick could help Sock's serve that would be huge, he is way too inconsistent on that shot right now.

Roddick was such a unique server though. I don't know how much of his motion he could apply.

But yes, Sock needs to get more consistent on his serve. Especially his second serve (although he does go for huge kickers on his second serve, leading to more DFs).

Who's Sock's current coach? Didn't he get a new one this past year or am I missing something. Anyways, it would be a great idea for Jack to ask Courier to coach him. He could bring a lot on the table. It would be a prefect match in my opinion.
