people really forget the fact puerta had double set point in 4 set in that final
let 's say puerta win 4 set and then wins 5 set and wins that finale
what would happend ?
i mean ... It could happen that final
Nadal was tired that 4 set

I know that Puerta doped through the competition.

You love the what ifs eh?

I don't mind having fun debates about what ifs, but this one just seems so...

I'm more curious to know what would've happened had Puerta won RG then proceeded to get caught doping.
It means nothing since it does not prove (technically) he was doping at RG. It is like how many Chinese and Russian athletes get caught doping at some tiny meet weeks after the World Championships or Olympics but do not lose their medals since it was not proven they were doping at the actual World Championships or Olympics. The only exceptions are when they can go back and test samples.

it would have nipped the abominable topspin plague in the bud.
he wouldn't have ruined tennis as he did for 15 years and we would leave in a wonderful and peaceful world ruled by butterflies and baby seals.

damned you, mariano.

True.

Korda was caught doping in 1998 (I think at Wimbledon), but wasn't stripped of the AO title he won earlier that year - even though there's a strong likelihood he was also doping when he won that.

is this accurate? sharapova had all her results for the year removed

Once in a while, Nadal has epic responses. The one, I love the most is that press conference after RG'06 I think where Djokovic said to the journalists that Nadal was beatable and he (Djoko) was in complete control of the match before his physical issues. Nadal: 'Yes, LOL'

Nadal would've still went on a tear at RG. Lets remember he lost big finals at Wimbledon before finally clinching it in 08.
Plus he was a teenager in 05, so no reason why it wouldn't have been 10 wins there still.

Well she admitted to doping during a period of time, and it was proven as well she was doping for a prior period of time from a certain date onwards. If they were going to strip Puerta of anything they would have stripped her runner up finish from Roland Garros, which did not happen. He was only found to be doping at the point he was caught, which was after (well after in fact) his RG finals appearance.

I did a little reading and this is mostly incorrect. The test was from just after the French Open and was revealed in December of 2005.
He forfeited points and prize money from the FO and everything after FO was completely stripped from his records (points, prize money, and results).
There was actually a bit of controversy over whether his finalist result in Paris should stand, though it ultimately did.

No joke, Nadal would have the first ever real moral victory.
If he had wheels he’d be a wagon
