If Novak...

...does the unthinkable, and somehow miraculously goes through Sinner and Alcaraz to win the 2025 French Open, he should immediately retire on the spot afterwards because epicness of such magnitude could never be topped.
Agree. Don't think he will make it though, as much as I personally would like to (I mean, win the French, not retire).

It would be a great ending! I think he should do it.
he said recently (and he was in the big slump then, just separate with muzza) that he want to play OG28. but that he will retired that moment he can not win anything anymore and compete with top guys.

No, that's not how the pros think, especially ones with a legendary drive like Novak.

If he wins the FO his mindset will be -why should I retire when i can still win slams?

He'll retire when he feels he can no longer compete in slams with the top guys. That is still not the case, he reached SF here and beat up Carlito at the AO this year.

he only needs Alcaraz and especially Sinner to slip up or get injured/ill and he will be licking his chops against the rest of the tour.

He knows this well, Vulture mode is activated.

Djokovic will not retire any time soon regardless of what happens tomorrow and if he wins then on Sunday.

He didn't retire after Olympics. That was the off ramp for him.

He wants to see how far he can go and that's a fair chance he must get . Fed pushed his body beyond limit and Nadal did the same.

Nole should be allowed to do the same.

I would love that.

100% agree!!!

It'd likely motivate him to keep playing. I do think it'd be more epic to retire on top, but the only scenario in which he could retire this year is if he doesn't win a single slam, and even that likely won't make him retire this season.

Then again, he seemed to contemplate the idea of retiring after achieving the CYGS in 2021 (that's what he seemed to vaguely imply during his on-court itw after the SF, based on his wording and demeanor). So who knows, maybe he is really considering retiring on a high note like his idol Sampras.

Would be GOAT of all sport if he does that for me. But I don't want him to retire as although I always root against him he draws me to watch and makes it exciting. He is like a pantomime villain of sorts for me. But I totally get your point.
I don't think he would though as he still could equal the W and USO records.
