I don't think Novak would be more furious for that reason. He already knew he was the overwhelming favorite to win the tournament. That his stiffest competition couldn't beat PCB would merely confirm that.
The thing that would make him furious is that a PCB victory ensures the tennis world will never forget what happened in that fourth round match. 20 years from now, kids will be asking their parents who PCB is and how he was able to win a slam in 2020. Djokovic's role in it all will be part of the answer.

If PCB wins, then good for him. He'll have earned it by working hard and taking advantage of putting himself into a good position when the opportunity opened. However, at 29 years old, I wouldn't expect it to be the start of a new dominating stretch for him. More like a Gaudio or Thomas Johanson type career highlight.
It would also be a massively wasted opportunity for Zverev, Medvedev, or Thiem. I feel that if one of those guys wins, it will be the beginning of the Next Gen taking over. My bet is on the winner of the Thiem vs Medvedev match taking the title as both of those guys are the best players left, have both been to major finals where they performed well, and are ready for the moment.

That's just it... PCB's opponent would basically have to choke or play terrible for him to win. He's a very solid player, but doesn't really have a weapon and his serve doesn't produce a lot of free points. All three of the other players left in the tournament have the power and weapons to control a match. So PCB would have to hang around and hope that they don't play well, similar to what happened with Shapovalov in the 5th set.
Could I see Zverev choking away the semifinal against PCB? Yes. However, I thought Zverev was going to lose to Coric after losing the first set and going down a break in the second in the quarterfinals, but he showed a lot of maturity and tenacity to turn that around. I don't think PCB has anything special to show that Coric doesn't have, so if Zverev plays well and holds his nerve, he would be the clear favorite.
And if PCB makes the final, I wouldn't count on either Medvedev or Thiem choking. Both those guys played great and narrowly lost 5 setters in their previous Grand Slam finals, so they've proven that they can play well in those circumstances. Besides, how do we know PCB wouldn't choke?

No he does not. It is the opposite. In 2013 he was angry and he kept losing to Nadal. He is far better when calm. In 2016 he lost YE1 as too angry in the fall. He was calm in 2018 and did great.

PCB plays a low-risk game with margin-for-error, so even if he's nervous he can play decent, so unlikely to choke.....plus he'd got minimal expectations therefore less pressure when compared to the other guys.
Medvedev has never won a 5-setter, not that it means he'll choke in the 5th set.....but he hasn't proven he's clutch in the 5th set....

That's one way to look at it.
Another way would be that this might be PCB's one and only real chance to win a Slam, so the pressure would be on him to capitalize if he got in that position. The other guys will all have many more opportunities, so maybe less pressure to win this one particular event.
I'm not trying to trash the guy. He seems like a hard worker and somebody who is maximizing his talent/opportunities on the tour. But he's not at the same level as the other three guys in the semifinals, all of whom should be multiple Slam championship winners by the end of their careers. I put PCB in there with guys like Gilles Simon, who is in shape, equally runs down a lot of balls, and plays good percentage tennis, but does not possess a weapon that can control a match. For his whole career, PCB has only won 4 titles and is 5-28 verses top 10 ranked players (with one of those 5 wins being the default against Djokovic). And maybe the Gilles Simon comparison is being generous considering Simon has 14 career titles and 34 wins against top 10 opponents!
Also, PCB is 0-1 vs Zverev, 1-2 vs Medvedev, and 0-7 vs Thiem.
