If Roddick was alive today, Fed would have more majors. Roddick is terrible matchup for Nole, so he would knock NOle out then Fed would easily win versus Roddick.

I think Djokovic would still handle Roddick most of the time but yeh I agree there's a match-up difficulty there. Roddick did get most of his wins against Djokovic when he was also a lower ranked player than him, after all.

I don't think it's only bad matchup, I think we are underestimating Safin, Roddick and those guys. They are a bit better than just 1 major says.

I think Roddick is on par with Murray. It's just that this era allows Murray to win a bit more than Roddick. Remember Murray never beat FEdal on a way to his slams, but Roddick always had to play peak Fedal there.

Well prime/peak Roddick rarely if ever had to deal with Nadal in Slams IIRC... their primes didn't overlap much... but he had a woeful match-up with Federer and this probably cost him Slams. Safin was a great talent but he didn't apply himself like Roddick or Hewitt. Safin and Hewitt did bag 2 Majors tho.

Roddick was sort of like Wawrinka. Safin too. Both not as consistent but they had weapons to hurt top guys and also when on they were also mentally strong.
Murray is more like Hewitt. Consistency, but lacks weapons.

And Fed's h2h versus Roddick is the same as versus Wawrinka. So, I don't think this is bad matchup, Fed is just good.

#2 in the world behind Djokovic.
Lol. No way he would have more points than Nadal, not sure about Federer. Nadal has made 5 consecutive Grand Slam SF and is the defending champion of RG. When did Roddick make the SF of all GS the same year? Federer also reached the RG SF at age 37, when Roddick never got past the QF of RG.

Nadal barely played HC lol and with peak Roddick on Tour he'd definitely get less points there.

Decent chance Roddick would be sitting on a couple of slam finals at Wimby and the USO, think he'd be ranked over Fed who's only made one SF in the last year - not sure about Nadal who gets so many points from clay while Arod has Djokovic (and others) to compete with on HC.

He's the daddy of the current world no 1. The world no 2 can't generate points outside of clay and the world no 3 is 38 years old.

World no 1.
I know there's context to all these things, but they're also not exactly inaccurate and damn do they make the state of the ATP sound dire :-D
