Nobody said Nadal is only good on clay. Just that he cleans up these so-called H2Hs thanks to clay. Those who say Nadal is only good on clay should take note. Federer didn't even get bronze at the olympics in 2008. Fed won most of his slams in the 'weak era'.
When is Federer going to sack Paul Annacone?
listen man/boy/girl, whoever you are. It's nothing to do with your butt picker, it's about the most ******** fan base in tennis history. got it? you guys poison this board with worshiping and pure stupidity. now go complain to mods again, little boy. pls, get me banned again for telling the truth. I will not tolerate your or your queen gf stupidity. you two don't know what you are talking about at all. LONG LIVE NUDALL, blah. Now you've got Nadal in your head, me in your head, and clayqueen in your head. You must be gone mentally. You might never recover from the ownership. Oh well.
It's the Nadal-fan logic that Fed is incapable of sticking with a coach when none of them actually knows why Roger parted with them. Why would he sack Annacone? He's winning titles, including 2 Masters titles and the WTF in the last 8 months. That's not a bad set of results, coupled with 3 straight Major Semis.
Fed's done winning Majors, but it doesn't mean that Annacone can't help him win some smalller events along the way and stay somewhat competitive at the top.
Nobody said Nadal is only good on clay. Just that he cleans up these so-called H2Hs thanks to clay.
And it doesn't matter what Fed did at Olympics. Fed did things on HC Nadal hasn't come close to doing.
and is still losing more often than not.Nadal is peaking late at the hardcourt slams.
Sure, but I'm not going to assume hypothetical major victories for him. He has what he has and it's less than Fed and Djokovic. But at the slams, late. So you won't know how many hardcourt slams Nadal wins until he's 30.
You mean Nadal TRIED to match a physically spent Djokovic and still failed. But nevermind, your boy is still taking full advantage of Djokovic's drop of levelNow he's over the Djokovic curse of 2011- we saw the turning point at the 2012 AO when Nadal matched Djokovic physically.
Yes, I'm sure the "aggression" on a Novak who's barely won anything all 2010 was spectacular....to his '****s.The tide has turned and Nadal will regain the upper hand at the US Open and deliver the aggression of 2010 US Open (which he couldn't do last year,
Sure, sure but then Djokovic lost his grandfather and had shoulder issues after the USO last year. That explains his poor serving.because he injured his foot at Wimbledon vs Del Potro and didn't hit the training courts until the Canada Masters arrived.
The switch got on after Djokovic had a marathon semi. Well, you see, anyone can play the "tired and injured" cardAnd as we just saw at the Australian Open, the switch is on, and that is a great opportunity for Nadal in 2013. It is Djokovic's best slam, yet it took 6 hours to beat Nadal.
Nadal is peaking late at the hardcourt slams. Outside of the slams he was winning early in his career. But at the slams, late. So you won't know how many hardcourt slams Nadal wins until he's 30. He's getting better at them with age. He's made 3 of the last 4 hardcourt slam finals. He won the Australian Open in 2009, and then put in an even better performance in 2010 with the US Open. Now he's over the Djokovic curse of 2011- we saw the turning point at the 2012 AO when Nadal matched Djokovic physically. Now he's solved the mental part of it, by winning 3 matches in a row over Djokovic for the loss of just one set. I know you'll say that it doesn't matter, because that was on clay.... But understand this- Djokovic beat Nadal in straight sets twice in 2011. Both were on clay. Nadal reversed that in 2012.
The tide has turned and Nadal will regain the upper hand at the US Open and deliver the aggression of 2010 US Open (which he couldn't do last year, because he injured his foot at Wimbledon vs Del Potro and didn't hit the training courts until the Canada Masters arrived. He said just before the US Open began that he wasn't ready physically, but he'd 'I'll try my best'. He ran out of steam in the final, as expected. That won't happen again. And as we just saw at the Australian Open, the switch is on, and that is a great opportunity for Nadal in 2013. It is Djokovic's best slam, yet it took 6 hours to beat Nadal.
What a crapload! What are you? Nostradamus? You claim that for Wimby the NEXT 5 years. To win or just to show up then being booted out. I'll give it to you for the next year, and if I shut my rational mind, the next 2 years. Why stop at 5 years? Why not infinity? He is playing well enough and young enough to then reach 5 Wimbledons. He'll continue to have shots at Wimbledon, because Roland Garros gets him into great form each year for it.
Absolutely agree. Nadal won the USO losing ONE set, and that was in the final. He did not get broken until the SF and that was just the once. That's how good he is on h/c. He's got 2 grass and 2 h/c slams. So much for him being only good on clay.
Yep and equaled Roddick's US Open record of only being broken 5 times in a title-run. His serve is money. And when Nadal won 2008 Wimbledon, Federer only broken the Nadal serve ONCE. And this year it was a great serving display at Roland Garros too, and especially the 4th set on the Monday portion of the final.
Did you just say nadal's serve is money because of ONE tourny? really? im not saying its bad but compared to sampras or even federer its not that good
The French Open should be renamed the Rafael Nadal Open.
Well, Nadal led the tour in breakpoints saved in 2010. That's the entire year.
Remind me what happened to Nadal's serve in the 2011 W final? He looked to be serving great throughout the tournament and the first setWell, Nadal led the tour in breakpoints saved in 2010. That's the entire year.
It's so funny how Fedfans get so hot under the collar over anything that is not proclaiming him as god. Nadal's fans are cool and fair minded and don't get abusive; they just make their point in a 'colm' and polite manner.

Nadal served great in the Wimbledon final, but he was shaken up by Djokovic. Nadal has overcome the mental barrier since then. I think those 4 early wins by Djokovic took Nadal by surprise (especially the Rome match). So in the Wimbledon final, he was a bit more nervous than usual. Uncle Toni mentioned this, that Nadal played nervous on the big points. Doesn't usually in slam finals. Even in the AO final, Nadal hadn't regained his confidence fully. But he got back to his best physically. Now he's got it all going his way, mentally and physically.
Curious about something... It has to do with the status one gets going with his name. How does one become "Hall of Fame", "Legend", "Rookie", or just "New user"? Anything to do with the # of posts?
Seriously, please someone enlighten me. I digress, not really the thread in question here.
Anything to do with past achievements that one MUST provide to the TW mods, like tournament certificates, pics of tournament trophies, etc.

Nadal's service at RG this year was the best I think I've ever seen from him.
though I often root against him as I don't really like watching him play
Yeah it reminded me of the 2010 US Open. He went for more flat serves than usual at this year's Roland Garros. Even at Halle this week, he reached 136mph in his first match, and averaged 123mph.
Nope, who knows if he'll even win it next year? Djokovic sure did come close this year, so who knows? The French Open should be renamed the Rafael Nadal Open.
Since when has FB not been important to Fedfans. Federer's clothing is more expensive because only old fuddy duddy people with money buy them, Nadal appeals to young, trendy people who don't have too much money at their disposal.
******** will probably retire before Tsar Roger, lol. and yeah, sure another gem, they will adapt ... they will probably support DjokovicThey'll adapt, maybe when Federer retires.
LOLOL you couldnt be more right!! but then again if you want to pick butt like a pro i would suggest rafa's gearNadal's crew is 4,45€ less than Federer's polo.
Nadal's short is 4,09€ more than Federer's short.
Nadal's jacket is 8,99€ less than Federer's jacket.
Nadal's cap is the same as Federer's cap.
Nadal's shoe is 20,05€ more than Federer's shoe.
Total outfit (minus rackets) is more expensive.
You've shown that Nadal has more FB fans and then claimed that Federer's clothing is only bought by old, rich people. The catch is that most old people couldn't give a rat's ass about FB.
Thank you for the info.its # of posts thats what its based on
I'm excited to see what happens at Wimbledon. Nadal is more susceptible to being hit off the court than Djokovic is and if one of the big hitters red lines against him they could win..
problem is Nadal looks so good.. if Nadal keeps this serve up it will be 5 sets and a couple tie-breakers of redline tennis. I dunno if someone like Tsonga or Delpo has the self-belief right now to do that.
Thank you for the info.
How does one get to the next level? Every 1000 posts, 2000...?
Nope, who knows if he'll even win it next year? Djokovic sure did come close this year, so who knows?
How can anyone say Djokovic came close to winning RG when Nadal won it 3 sets to 1, then say Djokovic dominated Nadal at the AO where it took him 5 sets and 6 hrs towin it. It defies logic.
In best of 5, Rafa is only matched by Djokovic. Tsonga, Berdych, DelPo might catch fire for a set or two, but it's not sustainable for 5 sets. Even if he draws John Isner, I don't think John can bomb the serve and back it up well enough for 5 sets.
It's going to be Djoker/Rafa part 5, with Rafa taking it (I think).
Federer will be praying that he doesn't end up in Nadal's half of the draw at Wimbledon.
I'm off to bed now.
do you know whats going to happen next year? what if nadal is injured and looses, what if he actually looses or what if he's injured and cant play??? Its not in stone thats hes gonna win
I'm glad you accept that only injury can stop Nadal winning RG for as long as he wants.
yeah I unfortunately think that will be it too
really pulling for Murray though so he can get the monkey off of his back.
I'm glad you accept that only injury can stop Nadal winning RG for as long as he wants.
At this rate, all the Fed fans will be left in the dust. Rafa's fans just post 100, 200, or 400, or infinity posts and just took over the forums. Soon enough, all we hear is Rafa, Rafa, Rafa...Boy oh boy.well basically i think if you cross 100 you become rookie and then after 400 its semi pro and im not sure how it works after that but keep posting lol!

Thanks for the info though.
I think I have too much integrity and understanding for not posting anything like "Rafa WILL win the next 5 FO, 5 Wimby, 5 AO". And I'm not enrolled in the legion to defend Romain (or sorry Rafa) empire.
Nostradamus now, my dear clayqueen?I'm glad you accept that only injury can stop Nadal winning RG for as long as he wants.
I'm actually rooting for Murray as well.
I just want to see something new. Murray winning Wimbledon would be pretty spectacular.
