If Sampras had won the Barcelona Open 11 times...

Tough crowd here. Jokes (even puns) need to be explained, and then the explanations need to be explained.
It's amazing that this poster still doesn't get "Pista Pete", and that he didn't have to explain how stadiums/courts are named, or Pete's record on different surfaces...or that not many courts are called "Pista ____". All I was after was a quick play on words.

I was simply making a play on Pista (Pistol) Pete. I'm well aware of the other factors - it was a whimsical post.
And the fact people still were trolling after this is a bit bizarre. Or maybe they have no clue about Pete's nickname, which is even more disturbing.

We posted the same sentiment at the same time. (y)

...would they have named the main court Pista Pete Sampras?

Something to ponder (or not) on an early morning - or later.
I can just imagine the organisers asking him if he would like to attend the inauguration of his court with the new name and Pete telling them to "get lost" after just winning it for the 12th time lol. Classic Pete.

On a more serious note, good to see Rafa having naming rights. It is one of the finest clay courts on earth (imo).
