We all know Djokovic fans don't like the good tennis, they just like numbers. So if Sinner surpasses Djokovic's count, will they betray their current idol and claim Sinner is the GOAT and/or become their favorite player?

There is a difference between one’s favorite and the GOAT.

One of my favorite players of all time is Stefan Edberg, but I don’t ever try to argue that he should be the GOAT.

1. Big titles (24+, 7+, 1+, 40+)
2. No1 record (428+, 8+)

4. Versatility (3xCGS, 2xGM, all big titles sweep,...)

I am sure there will be a few. But the numbers are the numbers, Sinner will be seen as greater if he breaks Djokovic's record. The numbers cannot be denied.

If sinner passes Novak’s numbers in many of the big categories then I accept he’s greater. Same if Alcaraz does it.

We have to be fair to all players. When Fed had the most it was him. Nadal had most majors for a year. It is always on the numbers.

If someone had attempted that with Djokovic in (say) 2010, could they have done it accurately? In terms of what Sinner needs to do he probably needs 2025 to be a 3 slam + year if he's to threaten Djokovic's record, given that each of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic had 3 slam years by his age. He's unlikely to break Djokovic's record if he falls behind him at a comparable stage of their careers in any significant way.
