Because it's not like Agassi would do much better against Federer in the final. It'd be fairly close to be quite honest, I'd personally favor Hewitt but I feel Agassi could just as easily have won..


To prove my point that Agassi wouldn't be able to hang with Fed in a final at that point in time.


His struggles against journeymen on the way to the final does. And as much as you think Hewitt's not that impressive of an opponent, he's much better than the likes of Ginepri or even Blake who nearly beat him.

ginepri and blake were on fire. Neither are journeymen at the time. Both had the makings of top 5-10 players before they got hurt. Ginepri had an awesome US summer run in 05.

But yeah in 05 I would definitely give Hewitt a big edge but I do think it goes 5. 04 I do think Federer's nuclear forehands the first set just took Hewitt out of it. He'd have much more rhythym against Agassi and that would enable him to play better along with the type of ball Agassi hits compared to Fed. But still with the crowd solely behind Agassi and Agassi physically still being able to go 5 as well as his form Cincy/USO I'd have to slightly favor him.

Neither Ginepri or Blake played anywhere near as well as Hewitt that USO. I doubt it goes to five with either of them.. Maybe Blake, but I still doubt it.

I think he'd beat Agassi in 5 probably.
