If The Human Wrecking Machine wins the Madrid final...

Nadal beat Djokovic in 2010. Nadal 2022 AO win is always disputed by Novak fans.

Federer was 5 and 6 years older than Djokodal so he was always going to be at a disadvantage h2h wise with them as when they hit their peak Federer was bound to be past his peak.
In 2010 Fedovic weren't exactly up to standard physically speaking. Even as a Nadal fan there is no dispute that Novak would win if present at AO 22. But that still doesn't excuse their whining/crying that AO 22 is illegitimate and/or asterisked.

Really wish he didn't blow his chance against Felix Mantilla though. Unfortunately he was still a nutcase then
This is the equivalent of Sinner losing the Miami final to Hurkacz and then never getting another good chance of winning, facing f.e. prime Djokovic in the other 3 Miami finals he reaches.

He just doesn't have any obstacles, so I don't understand all the drooling over his stats. It's like you put peak Djokovic or peak Fed against absolute amateurs, well what do you think would happen?

And people can say what they want to about Federer and Nadal, their competition was leagues better. At least Rafa was actually beating Federer and Djokovic in his clay masters.

I’m already seeing it on r/tennis. My fault for venturing into that swamp.
The only fan group that should really eat it up are Djokovic fans. He had so many cheap titles later on in his career, Sinner is just taking it to another level. Nobody in their right mind thinks that beating a washed up Roddick like Zverev is on the same level as taking on prime Nadal on clay. Sinner already had a sample of Nadal on clay (fossil Nadal even) and got straight setted every time. I'm sure he'd enjoy playing peak Nadal in pretty much every big clay final.

Unless something drastically changes Sinner is going to be halfway to breaking all the records in the next 2-3 years alongside Alcaraz and it won't have any significance in my eyes unless he finally starts getting some proper competition. I've seen peak big 3 get way tougher matches and this carrot just shows up and collects frisbe after frisbe. What a joke.

Incredible stats, but I find him so boring. I guess that’s how some people feel about Djokovic though. lol
It’s like looking yourself in the mirror.

Actually, it’s not the players who are boring—you’ll find that some matches involving the same players are quite entertaining. It’s the domination that’s boring.

For me, tennis was boring when Federer was dominating from 2003 to 2007, until Rafael Nadal showed up. Then I found Nadal’s dominance on clay boring. And now, either Charlie or Sinner dominating feels boring to me as well.

Not really. For example UltimateTennisStatistics gives the record to Lendl

If a player decides not to play in a tournament, it can no longer be considered that they have achieved it consecutively.

I like seeing 2-3 players at the top and compete against each other for domination. Thats when sport is at its best.

Zev is just were Ferrer was at his peak, just a gatekeeper that could have been better
if he turned up to train with Ferrero or Lendl on time than pee them off with lateness.

Sinner has sounded an alarm bell at least that needed to be heard in an era of over
fluffled up balls that the big 3 would have suffered from.

The Sinner racquet of ra62-63 with tight strings and heavy head balance is what
works best for crushing fluffy balls without succumbing to arm fatigue or injuries.

Sinner is basically Berdych with weaker competition, and not handsome like Berdych is

Berdych has 1 M1000 in his whole career.

Sinner has 5 in his last 5 participations. That's an astronomical difference regardless of competition. Does anyone think that peak Berdych now would be doing what Sinner is doing?

And that's ignoring the Slams, ATP Finals, etc.

Berdych is much more handsome, do you concede?

It is just poor trolling, but some here have really lost the plot a long time ago. Imagine discarding a young player as weak, washed and worse only to see him winning and winning and winning.

Instead of manning up by admitting their mistake they just keep digging themselves deeper...

100 x (y) for this. I love to see the handwringing and crying posts

What is this based on?

Yep. Djokovic wins it in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023....common sense clearly shows he was the massive favorite to win in 2022 also, as that is in the middle of his run.
"Common sense" dictates that he was going to win Wimbledon 2023 and he didn't.
:D

AO is his pet slam, not W. You know this very well.

Did he win another W after 2023? No. Did he come back and crush everyone at AO after 2022...yes. :)

Wimbledon was his pet slam as well before carlos came along. He made countless of finals there if not titles, blocked by Carlos and Murray.

He won Wimbledon, chances are he was going to win AO.
Wimbledon is on grass mate, USO comes after W and is actually on a hard court and Medvedev humiliated Djokovic there and then lost to Nadal at AO.

This is not even up for debate, Djokovic avoided a beat down by Nadal at AO and looking back i think he knew he couldnt beat Nadal at that point in time hence all the drama.

Novak ,who not lost a set against Rafa in Hard court for ages was afraid of Rafa.
Medvedev choked big time and rafa made epic comeback but can you find any single match where Novak up 2 sets lost to rafa in hard court.

peeps making comparisons of past and current old but still the GOAT have no right to compare
any generation considering the balls are so different today than say 3 years ago.

It is obvious fluffed up balls suit open patterns with larger heads, this is the trend of players like
Tien, Khachanov and many others. How Djoko still thinks he can push the ball vs the new gens
adapted to these newer balls with newer more powerful sticks is crazy.

Any other player swinging Djokos stick would not even crack the top 500.
Even Fed is still making custom sticks to suit the recent era of power play.

Jannik and Jodar are in a great space and if Serena and Venus were back in their 104" days
they would be perfectly matched to these quick to afro balls.

Djokovic would not even have got 2 sets up, Nadal would have beat him as easily as he did at the FO that same year. By that stage of their careers nadal's game was too much for Djokovic match up wise.
