If the US Open is any indication of the future Tennis won't survive

The ones who had the talent got injuries way too often or weren't interested. The ones who were committed didn't have the talent or weapons. This resulted in a never seen before absolutely horrible series of younger generations in the history of tennis

Is having more injuries because of a lack of commitment? I don't think so. I'm merely pointing out that timing is everything. In an individual sport where you don't have the team backing you up on your bad days, it's to be expected that one or two players in a generation would fade away because of injury.

So, the question is, combined would they have had the talent to do some major damage? I think so.

The last few days have had some unexpected results with top seeds going down.

I mean last year players refused to play for political reasons or they didn’t like press conferences. How many fans enjoy that?

Washed up Murray with no back left should have beaten Tstsipas who should be entering the peak/prime tennis (who then proceeds to loses to no namer later on)
Djoker in his worst level since 2010 still getting through
Sinner lucky to survive a washed up Monfils (Sinner loses 6 straight games? LOL Come on dude)
Zverev/Med are the equivalent of Davydenko all things considered. (Would you want to see Davydenko dominate an era? LOL)

We can try to polish a turd all we want but the future still looks like a turd
And don't forget that a lame Nadal almost beat Lloyd Harris, who just beat Shapovalov who should have won the first two sets of the Wimbledon semi-final against Joker.
Nadal is again the Moral Champion of the 2021 Edition of the US Open!
:p

Three generations of pathetic tennis players is the primary reason a 34 year old is going to with the CYGS....Absolutely pathetic players...and those who think they will "mature" later is nothing but wishful thinking....Raonic Dimitrov Nishikori are 30+ for goodness sake....when will they mature? At 40? LOL

The #3 ranked player and FO finalist almost taken out by a semi retired player with a metal hip and then taken out by a 18 year old....The Wimbledon finalist needs 5 sets to get by some random 53 ranked player in the third round ...The #2 ranked player has zero game on two out of three surfaces

Only reason these turds will win majors in the future is because the big three would have been bored of breaking all the records and retired or injured by then and these pos younger gens will swarm in like cockroaches to feed on the leftovers.

The torch will not have been passed for the first time in the history of tennis.
Good post...still expect some delusional heads will not agree with whatever you wrote

I'm going to go with some great games and some great upcoming players. I would also agree that we are still in a transition phase per se ;-)

so 99 to 2003? Would have loved to see the boards when a WC Goran won 01 Wimby talking about weak era with no pete and a WC is winning Wimby. or something along those lines. Idk i went on a hiatus from this site for like 4 years and I am glad to see it is even more insane and wild and thus more fun. At least the pro player forum

I am at the USO this weekend and everyone is talking about what a great tournament this has been. Highest number of five set matches in a couple of decades. Drama all over the place. Old and new names. I’m not sure what you are referring to but this has been great so far. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and I have never struggled to figure out which court to go to as there are high quality matches everywhere and a bunch of names I want to see play (both men and women’s).

I agree. As much as the next gen has been an abysmal failure, this particular US Open has been highly entertaining and has had some epic matches.

This really has been coming but should have happened earlier. No one thought fed nadal djokovic would still be playing at this age and winning.

The after generation were a joke.

We can only hope someone like Alacaraz takes over.
